I would just call this a straight clip , it deforms a bit from metal flow . Also the so called second clip , is a common feature on the straight clips . Might have something to do with the edge of the strip . See pictures.

Here is a straigh tclip on a quarter - hard to see but there is a secondary impression behind the edge of the clip .

Almost every 1-cent straight clip I have from the 1960s, has that 'second partial clip' cut mark in it...

a partial clip goes through the rimming and gets a full rim around the blank and then breaks off before the strike the blakesley effect would be much weaker and the edge would not have the tapering? Too stupid a question to deserve a comment?

Because the clip is misshapen I believe the portion broke off before the strike but after the rimming.
