The only way I can afford any coins now is if they were 100% off.

Well it got my interest, nice coins but 33% markdown on coins approx 150% - 200% marked up. Reminds me of a bigbox store. Thanks though. I am super cheap too. Great for some I am sure!

It's quite a sight to see so many ancients in neat little slabs--that alone is worth the link!

There is one ebay seller who regularly prices coins ten times what they are worth, shows that price crossed out and marked down about 40% (so they are only six times what they are worth) with "Buy it now," and accepts offers. If some sucker thinks he might get a bargain by offering 1/3 the "marked down" "Buy-it-now" price he is offering twice what it is worth. I can't imagine the seller sells many coins that way, but it doesn't take many overpriced sales to make a big profit.

Thanks for posting Bobby, lots of interesting Indo-Greek stuff to drool over but I'd also need the kind of discounts echizento is looking for right now

Romae Aeternae Numismatics is having a 70% off sale at the minute but judging by the prices of the coins I know its perhaps not as good as it sounds. A little like Hi-Lo I guess, bargains can only really be had in cases where the buyer recognises the coin to be something special that the seller missed or mis-attributed.

My biggest annoyance with most of these high price, high discount sellers is the offer of 'Lifetime Guarantees' and 'Certificates of Authenticity'.
Lifetime guarantee, whos lifetime? Mine, theirs, the life of a non bricks-and-mortar ebay shop that could easily disappear in a heart beat or return selling something completely different next month.
CoAs should only be issued by museums and world known and respected experts, published experts etc, anything issued by anyone else is just an 'info sheet', nothing wrong with that, nice to have when giving presents etc but I seriously doubt its worth the paper its printed on to anyone else.
