The reverse looks to me like a Retained Cud but the front does not look like the cracked skulls Iv seen. It pretty severe and noticable from 2 feet away.

What are your opinions?

It does look like a cracked skull but not the one I usually see. The Retained Cud looks nice. Can you post a pic of the whole reverse?

This does appear to be a Retained Cud... is the area in question raised above the rest of the coin? Nice find!

Here is the full back.

The crack and the Cud are raised quite a bit. In the picture you can also see another area on the bottom of the T in CENT that looks to have a smaller Retained Cud. I am new to this (coins) so I have to ask, is this worth putting in a box as an interesting piece or should I put it in a protector? I just thought it was kind of cool looking.

Thanks for adding the rev pic. The " Cud" on the T is a die chip, Cuds always include the rim. I would put it in a staple type 2x2 holder.

Die crack on skull not die lamination. I notice that a few wheaties have die chips on T. Force of the strike might weaken that particular area on wheat dies.
