That's what drives many people away from collecting coins. Too many "dealers" out their praying on people. Not everyone can be an expert in coins to know what the correct value is. These types of dealers give the hobby a bad name.

At one point I read something that said there was going to be a cable show following around dealers from various buying events. I wonder if that is still set to air?

35 cents a gram for sterling and 8x face for any silver coin is commonly offered (and accepted) on radio advertised buyers at hotels restaurants and wherever they set up around. (gold pros)

My wife - knowing my love of coin collecting - showed me a full page ad the other day for a buyer/seller coming to a nearby hotel.

I chuckled and told her those were rip-offs.
