I'm gonna say real but I'm also gonna subscribe to this thread to see how it turns out. I hope you send it in.

Our little friends in China continue to improve their skills. The coin in question is one of those that if it was offered to me at $50 or $100 by a dealer that I know and trust and he said it was genuine, I would still walk away and pass on a bargain. My instincts tell me the coin is wrong and I would rather miss a bargain than get stuck with a loss. Hopefully we will get to hear what NGC says on this piece.
Those that feel the coin is not genuine have pointed out areas of concern. I would like to hear from those that think the coin is genuine as to what it is that you see that convinces you the coin is good.

If it's fake , I'm not out alot of money. Like I've said before, on all keys I will NOT offer serious money unless it's graded. I keep seller's name/address onhand and if it does grade as legit I send em a check as a bonus post-TPG.

The reason I personally think it's real are :

#1 - The coin looks a bit different in-hand, set next to other Peace dollars the area of note are no different than some other coin in my set that's common, and very definitely silver.

#2 - The seller is a older lady that has had the coin for 10-20 years. If she's telling the truth (Which is always debatable), then I don't think that China was putting out such quality counterfeits 10-20 years ago.

In side by side comparison the 2 in 1928 would be my biggest question, and that could be the fact that one has luster and the other does not.

The side by side makes me think it's real but the original pics make it look cast. I look forward to finding out what the TPG says.
