Did you keep 1 set for your collection? This has been an interesting topic to follow. It will be interesting to see what happens in 10-15 years.

Are you selling the set or just the coin?
At that price, I would only buy it raw if certified.

With it's limited final mintage, people moving to the next, more current stuff. Added: of cause still will bring nice premium.

It was a joke and I don't regret giving it away. I bought the set for the sole purpose of giving it to him as a wedding gift.

Now I understand So this is interesting case, when you gave away an item, that basically symbolic, but suddenly turned to having high monetary value. Is your brother also into the collecting and aware about re-sell value?

I purchased the silver loon that is in this set a couple of years ago at an online auction......someone obviously removed this coin out of the set. A couple of questions. 1. Would you send the coin in for grading in the hopes that it would increase the value of the coin? 2. Given the limited mintage of this coin would you hold onto it from an investment perspective or has the coin's value already peaked?

I personally buy coins for collecting, if your looking to invest coins isn't what you should invest in. But I think it would look nice in a nice slab :).

The only way to increase value of this silver loonie is to send it to PCGS and pay them extra to have the mintage figure on the label, without this, most collectors do not believe the mintage numbers, the grade is not that important all will be 67 or 68, unless someone destroyed the coin getting it out of the packaging. In the set the last few has sold for around 1000.00

Will be this advice relevant, for let's say 2007 "Rattle" Loonie from Baby set with CD, or better to keep set (with CD) originally sealed?

gbvbsite, I am a coin collector as well. I hope to enjoy the hobby well into my retirement. I also hope to sell my collection for a profit, preferably before it becomes an "asset of my estate". If you were to slab it, which grading company would you use?
