That will easily fool most of the population. Not a great counterfeit but good enough to fool a cashier at a Mini-Mart.

If I received one in change, I would take the 25ยข loss and use it as a conversation piece, besides, it must cost more than a quarter to make one.

Hard to believe anyone would go to all the effort to counterfeit a 1982 quarter.

Is it just magnetic or is it actually a magnet.
Like the one in the ad pic. ( Magicians coin etc.)
Try it out on some gold/silver plated jewlery.
Worth it if it can detect. Some of these smaller earth
magnets sell for $15.00 ea. Could be useful if you buy/sell
gold/silver etc.

An obvious fake, I've seen that one before.

To make ONE yes, but if you make say 100K of them? Say the blank costs you a nickel and the dies $200. If you make one it cost you $200.05, make 10 they cost $20.05 each, make 100 they're $2.05 each. make 1,000 they cost 25 cents each. Make ten thousand they cost 7 cents each, and 100K would cost 5.2 cents each. 10K, that is only two and a half bags, probably not too difficult to get rid of, and represents a profit of $1,800. 100K means a profit of $18,000 but it is going to take quite a while to slowly move out 25 bags of quarters.
