The steps on the reverse are stuck through from the picture, and yes very nice die cap!!

Well...it was struck through a die cap. It's a nice one, too. It looks to be copper and in an au to low ms grade. How did you acquire it?

It's not a late-stage die cap. It was struck through a late-stage die cap.
