Thanks orfew. I am always trying to improve on the images. Its the critique and support of my fellow members that helps these ancient coins come to life and makes the hobby a far more fulfilling experience.

Recently, around sunset time I had an inspiration that I wanted to share with Coin Community Family members.

I decided to display my ancient coins - all except one actually - with the dying rays of the setting sun caressing their rough and aged visages.

I think this can result in very beautiful images. I have attached a picture showing this.

Good looking group shot. The contrast provided by the low sun does indeed bring out a lot of surface detail.

Nice coins and great pics! When I have the time, I want to do the same. Saw your Tetradrachm, I got the same type this year. Yours is a much nicer example though.

Thanks for the positive feedback Bob L and travelcoin

For me a sunset and the resultant evening light, that "dusted rust red light of ages" always invokes nostalgia. I get a similar feeling when looking at my ancient coins. Hence, sooner or later it was only natural for me to connect the two.

PS. Thanks for the compliment regarding my Alexander III coin travelcoin. However, I do not yet have a tetradrachm in my collection. I have a Alexander III drachm and I am really happy with that one. I have not yet taken it out of its cardboard coin holder....
