Actually it's the 135th anniversary of the first cigar that Grant shared with Lincoln.

I'm with ghostrider, looks like a big stogie. It is a bubble, one of the biggest I've seen.I'd keep it,no value but interesting.

Bubble? From when it was made or developed later?

I'll have to agree with Ghostrider. Looks like he's smoking a cigar. If anything, it could be a conversation piece.

I can honestly say ther is no cigar resemblance infact if you see the mouth piece it is noticeably thinner and thicker tawards the middle. In other words a cigar would not have that shape. :)

It is trapped gas that develops later after minting. I have not seen any that large.

I have seen some Lincoln cents (though they are usually copper ones) that are counterstamped to show him smoking a pipe. Maybe that's what this is, but they messed up when the struck it, or the counterstamp process didn't work well on Zincolns.

My first though was projectile vomiting.
My second though was Lincoln playing a clarinet.
Definitely a gas bubble.

There are several corrosion pinholes around the rim which caused the plating to bubble and separate from the zinc core. That coin has one foot in the grave as zinc rot sets in

Turkish pipe, bong, or gas bubble? I vote gas bubble. It's an oddity and worth holding onto!
