To zzzhuge, Dooby Rak:

This year (to be more correct - at the end of the 2012), the 1/2oz "Year of the Snake" 10 dollars already has been issued:

http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/year-...-prod1520006

and this is the same format, like the 1/2oz "year of the dragon".

But now, we have additional 1/2oz "Snake" - the same finish and the same format, but the different snake design (which is better, IMO) and lower mintage.

I got to see these coins about a month ago at Canada post from their order catalog, and nothing impressed me. The 4th coin in the GO7 series is REALLY lame...nonetheless it's part of my subscription so I will be getting it whenever...

The background is a large compass. In the foreground stand three mean, and a team of 4 dogs with a ladened sled.

The gold plated version in the fine silver set looks great IMO.

Ya, I don't think I'm going to buy anything from this catologue. It would be nice to get the sets which are the "1st without the penny", but at $230 I just can't be bothered!

This is the price for the Fine Silver set, with the Gold Plated proof Arctic Dollar.

If you just want the "First set without the penny", you can buy the "Blue winged Teal" specimen set for $49.95

The 1 kilo silver coin speaks to me, in terms of my career and research in the Arctic, but I can't bring myself to drop $2249.95 on basically what is nothing more than artwork, struck in silver...

Just purchased the 1/2 oz silver YotS... love the design... the shading on the snakes body forms the Chinese character for "snake"... can't wait to see it!

The 2013 1/2oz Fine Silver Year of the Snake:

The coin, actually the snake has shape like this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fiji-2013-1...em5650ddb848

but the snake's head is inside of the round - it more beautiful, and without stone.
The coin has $10 denomination, the "colors" of the snake and the "Specimen" finish, like on 1/4oz Snake coin.

Come with the standard RCM case.
