One of my wanted coins for when I have collected all the American silver I want is a one ounce silver proof "Kangaroo at Sunset" coin. Is 2009 the only year that this coin was made in the one ounce format?

I picked up a couple of the F12 privy UNC-Specimen examples from 2009 (trying to sell one) and I would really like the 1 Ounce (31 gram) proof version as well.

The 6 gram (1/5 ounce) version is too small, IMO.

Somehow was lucky to get this year the F15 2011 Proof 1oz version, for very reasonable price from trusted dealer on ebay.

And really can recommend this coin.

Couple of month ago, when I bought mine, it was sold minimum for $120 from Australia (with shipping fee $30), or from Europe for near $150.

I bought mine for $110 from dealer from Poland.

BTW, looks like one of the active auctions now started with the $0.99 by the same dealer, that I bout the coin from.

2011 F15 Proof has mintage of 5.000 ...do not know nothing about F12.

Mine is the 2011 F15. I believe I bought mine through the Royal Canadian Mint for $95 each. They must have been helping the Royal Australian Mint out.

Thanks Coin Chick for sharing - real picture of this coin worth a lot of words.
It even makes me to want another one.

To oih82w8:
No, the shipping wasn't problematic. As I said, the seller was under the name of some numismatic dealer. I do not remember the how long it took (I often expect some coin, that bought from ebay). But again, nothing unusual.
It took less then some of mine RCM orders...

It's a great design to be sure, this is a BU version of the 2011 coin. From what the stats say the RAM only did this one other year and the mintage is 5000 as well.

The mintage of the 2011 F15 Proof is really 5.000 - this states in the COA.

But as I can see - your BU version encapsulated into F15 RCM capsules.
And since I also have this (2012 F15 subscription, that I'll probably will cancel) - I seen, that for entire subscription the mintage appears as 10.000, from that I can understand, that at least 10.000 of the 2011 F15 BU were produced.

Of the $1 brilliant uncirculated silver F15
kangaroo at sunset in capsule there were a total of 2129 produced.

On page 117 of the RAMs 2011-2012 Annual report your will find the data.

http://www.ramint.gov.au/about/comp...alReport.pdf

The $1 proof silver F15 kangaroo at sunset had a total of 2000 produced for the year.

The actual mintages are a bit of shock, its a nice design but maybe people are getting tired of it or the prices are just too high, which is likely.
