From the people, that know, that possible to buy everything on ebay....so he bought. This could explain it. As the person, who not inside the world of numismatics, and want to present some respectful gift - definitely, the purchase of this set via ebay will be the good deal for him, without knowing that he overpaid. Like the coins - if some set (Lego) discontinued - it's price reaches 200% - 300% (probably more). All above just by experience from LEGO Hero Factory series, that my son like to build and play with.
