During MC presale week, most of us believed this coin was pretty lame compared as its predecessors. However, I just noticed that the Mint has updated its pics and it looks much better now. I will judge it when I receive the coin.

These coins - Go7 - IMO, much better looks in hands.
Specially, together with all other coin in the series.

Like the coin #2 - people said that it "over detailed", but despite this, it was "awaiting stock" in the Mint (together with the "Bateman's Moose") at the end of the first day of the public release.

I agree...Like to see all the coins together especially with the big box!! Awesome!

Actually I have a few #2 and wanna trade them for #3 and #4 (I ordered a few when #2 was released but only order one of each #3 and #4).

I just got mine in the mail today. And despite the fact that I said it was "lame"....in my hands it looks really, really nice. There is something about the design and the actual painting that gives it a very warm and calming feel. A very solid coin in the series!! Looking very much forward to the other 3

Sounds great, RoyalSilver!

From the beginning had a belief in this series as a very collectible items.

Just didn't think unfortunately about the subscription.

I go the subscription...its very strange to me that these coins are not very popular in the secondary market. With such a LOW mintage of 7000, and a very good price for 1oz silver...i thought and hoped they would do much better in the secondary market, but you can still buy them for issue price or just a bit higher. Very odd

Fortunately, they are timeless designs. So, there are many years for people to fall in love with them.

EVERY coin in this series looks a lot lot better in hands, it's not much of a surprise to me now ;)

If it was only for the pictures, the first one looked no more than "nice", the second one looks weird and not appealing, too much details, etc., the third one has nothing very special and the last one doesn't looks too bad, but still.
In-hand... it's all the reverse: These coins are amazing, each and every single one IMO.

When the subscription was available, I looked at the first coin and the paintings to come and wasn't very sold to this series. But I soon as I saw the first coin I knew I had to have it. Not to flip because they never did very well in the secondary market, and you could even got each of the first three below issue price on ebay, but one full set for my collection was a MUST! I was fortunate enough to get the box with the Gatewest deal (first two coins + box at the price of the two coins), but dumb enough to order only one... haha

Box only is selling 125$ on ebay!

LOL really? Thats insane, how can an empty box sell for that much? Were there not 7000 subscription sets? Thank goodness I got one. I'm still puzzled as to why the coins are doing so poor. Oh well, since I only have one example of each, I'm not looking to flip anyways

No they didn't make 7000 boxes. I'm not sure how many they made. People want to display them in a nice case, instead of standard clamshell.
