Quote: LOL really? Thats insane, how can an empty box sell for that much? Were there not 7000 subscription sets? Thank goodness I got one. I'm still puzzled as to why the coins are doing so poor. Oh well, since I only have one example of each, I'm not looking to flip anyways I think in this case one coin alone does not make much sense, it's the complete series. That's why single coin does not attract too much interest. Just my theory ;)

I love the box. Simple but with style, name of the artists below the coins, you can display the paintings part of the COA in the cover over the coins, etc. IMO, having the box is a must for this series!
Weird how the coins are doing so bad in the secondary market (you can buy the Carmichael one at 78$ at Colonial Acres now, the others comes below issue quite often), but the box selling so hot. I would guess the low resale is in part because that you have to see the coin in-hands to see the real value there, and the Go7 is not very much known neither... paintings is not the most popular thing these days. Anyway, I'm sure it's a long-term pretty good investment.

BTW, after having sold the box as a must, I have plenty of them to sale... who's interested?!
haha I'm kidding, I was just reading my post and its seems so a pitch sale! But it isn't, as I said, I only got one at GW long ago and I regret having just one.

Well, TIPIT, you've raised a point...
I knew that I will collect all of them, but didn't think that smart to do it via subscription. As a result - I have no box.
So, who have an additional box for sale (without coins)?

i agree. the coins look much better when you receive them compared to the pics on the Mint website. I also don't understand why the coins aren't doing very well in the secondary market. you would think that the group of seven would be a popular subject for coins...like holding a miniature piece of art in silver in your hand. I personally love the set so far.

I think the box was a mistake. One like the just started Oh Canada set would have been much nicer. A rectangular layout instead of a 50 cm (~18") wide case with a straight line layout.

A few sold for 125$+shipping already a couple weeks ago. The box + 3 first coins are selling near 380+shipping so the box comes to 110$-120$ in these too.
High demand for the box. I think the series becomes more and more popular... the Varley (1st) is selling a bit over issue price. Nothing impressive yet, but still, it's better than below issue it was few months ago.
