Me & my son went for lunch at a new Chinese restaurant that recently opened. I did something I don't do very often... paid for lunch using cash instead of my debit/credit card. The waitress brought the change and put it down on the table. At a glance, I saw a bright, new Lincoln Cent which I assumed was either a 2011 or 2012. I picked it up and was really pleasantly surprised when I found that it was an MS 1963-D. I guess it was my lucky day
Nice find, I bet I have a few nice coins sitting in a big water jug in my basement, this is where I would place my loose change prior to becoming a coin collector in mid 2012. I have not attempted to spill them out yet and go through them, mostly due to time and the effort and patience to look over all the coins, which the water cooler size jug is about half full with all coin ranges from a penny to half dollars (whenever I got them) to some dollar coins. I want to do it some day just to see how much silver is in there from pre 1965 coins.
It's a good find and worth putting in a 2x2 and holding on to for future use. When I do roll searching I find a number of older coins that are in particularity find shape and do the same thing.
It is worth more than the face value and so it was your lucky day.
