Well with seeing the reverse, one cannot eliminate an impaired proof for the 58. However it is realistically a typeII reverse on a typical business strike.

@ nathan, the only reason I was looking for the mint mark is because it would automatically tell me if it wasnt a proof by being D

Ahhh... I'm sorry, very correct you are! I was stuck on grading and price that I forgot the proof question by the time I was done with my post, Humbly I apologize.
The reverse looks pretty nice, I agree that it could be a proof.. Better pics (which I know you don't have at the moment) would be needed to know for sure.. Honestly I'd have to lean towards its not.. But I don't even want to make that assumption with the photos...
Your absolutely right, it is a Kennedy in the middle, and you may have already asked the seller (if you were even unsure), but in case you didn't, the one on the top is a barber half.
But anyways good luck, I hope you can come to a deal with him and pick them up!

Distinguishing between some MS and Proof franklins is hard enough. I wouldn't deign to call that a proof without exceptional pics or held in hand.

I will post some new pics this afternoon, I got the coin from him for only $12, so if it does end up being a prrof, good price... if not, still probably got it $1 below its value... being new to coin collecting and haveing yet to own a proof, I cant say off hand, but I've never seen a franklin shine like this one.

Did you only get that one or did you happen to pick up the other Franklin and barber also? (Not that it matters, that ones a great buy, I'm just curious as you asked about the barber also?)

i did get the barber and the other franklin, as well as a couple of silver roosvelt dimes and liberty dimes... I think the reason the coin doesn't look like a proof is because someone sent it into circulation that didnt know what it was... now I have 1 of 875,000 lol

So what year is the barber half, looks like philly mint, I dont think I see a mint mark? Did you get lucky and get 1913,1914 or 1915?

There is no mint mark on the barber I didnt get that lucky but it is 1901... I didnt have that year yet in my collection, and I can still make out lettering on the back even if I cant see the liberty on the front anymore. Edited by kingsnipes
