These are nice high quality coins. Glad they will be returning. But... Part of me, for some reason, wishes it was just a one year deal.
Just one more thing to buy and figure out a place for in my albums...

Quote: Part of me, for some reason, wishes it was just a one year deal. Or that they had stared these "S" Quarters in 2010... So now the ATB series has 2010-only Satin Finish Quarters and the circulation-finish "S" Quarters from 2012 on? A whole roll of MS-68/69 Gem BU Quarters for $18.95 The Mint's long-range planning strategy...

Kind of wish the Mint either started the S quarters in 2010 or not at all. Obvious revenue generator to replace the non circulating 2012 and beyond golden dollars.

I am officially cranky now. Quote:Or that they had stared these "S" Quarters in 2010... So now the ATB series has 2010-only Satin Finish Quarters and the circulation-finish "S" Quarters from 2012 on? Yes, they certainly have managed to mess up an otherwise brilliant series.

I'm happy, I like the high grade gems for such a low price, although I wish they had started them from the begining of the series.

I hate the idea personally. I like the idea of adding S quarters, but dont start it into the series. It should have been done before the series started, waited until it was done, or just have S quarters that arent ATB so the series doesn't get messed up for everyone

I do like the idea, I just wish they had it in 2009 and implemented it in 2010.

And: the circulation-finish "S" Quarters should have been 90% silver and packaged in 5-coin lenses, but they didn't ask me...

I dont get that either. If they are going to have the S why not add it into the mint and silver sets as well?

That would definitely make it easier for me to get them.

They could have added the S-coins to the ATB Quarters Circulating Coin Set. Or made them their own 5-coin Set. Not only do the "S" coins represent an album/folder problem, but there's not even the option of an OGP set that displays them. You have to open the bags or rolls, then come up with some way to display them. Like this?

I'm hoping I find one of these in circulation.

Me too! Not holding my breath though.
I agree with jbuck and everyone who's complaining about these gems not being around at the beginning of the series. Really stinks for existing albums and having a standardized set across the years of production. I'm sure folks will come up with creative solutions and/or the album companies will gradually release albums that include these and/or replacement pages.
It's somewhat like Apple changing up the 30-pin cable they've been using for years. Accessory companies can cash in. Or at least, make a little money.
