I was reading about the Walton coins in the recent issue of Coin World. Very interesting! Don't think I have enough dough though.

I would not be at all surprised if Legend Numismatics reaches hard for this one.

Legend has owned at least one 1913 Liberty in the past. I kind of doubt they will have the same enthusiasm as was the case for the 1794 Specimen. I could be wrong though, and they certainly represent a lot of these extravagent collectors willing to pay the annual GDP of Romania for one coin.

My belief is motivated by the fact that I believe Bruce Moreland has decided to do something very special in terms of a collection. He's been liquidating some really serious stuff the last few years.

I can't help but admire that guy. He's as infectiously enthusiastic a lover of round shiny things as any among us, a true coin geek who just happens to be successful-enough to swim in deep waters.
