Yeah, but it has been a year and we are still talking about it on our side.

BTW jbuck, something very important must be adhered to if results of a poll are to be considered accurate. neutrality.
Too late. I think my position is well known. I am not ashamed of it.

I think that my poll and your post shows that they were just as divided as we are. They argued the same things we argued.

The change may not have been as painless as I thought, but most everyone has accepted it and moved on. I still feel they are better for it, as I feel we would be.

The Government spends plenty of money on wasteful studies and grants to special interest groups. Nothing wrong with the dollar coins and the dollar bill. When they stop making the dollar bill maybe the dollar coin will be used more. But right now collectors are in Hog Heaven with all the new choices that are available to collect! Keep em coming Uncle Sam.

Yes - my only real thing here was to let people see the reality of it was nowhere near as smooth as our 30-year-post advantage makes people think it was. I hate to see even details of actual history be lost/overlooked. This is especially true in the day we live where the media covers up facts they don't like almost as fast as the event happens.

I know you are not "ashamed" of your position, and rightly so - there is no reason to be - we thankfully (for now) live where we can have our own opinions. I just was trying to point out the data collected by a poll started in such a manner is sure to produce tainted results - whether or not the people answering know it or not.

So how do I "feel" (note that word) about the coins personally?

My "feelings" have been altered against them mostly b/c the media and other proponents of the coins have always poo-pood the facts of the main problems that did exist and were factual. This goes against my grain.

But if it could be shown to me, without a doubt, that this program is an actual thing which will save me, as an individual, money; instead of my having to experience more cost increases like normally happens anytime the government makes such a large change (no pun); AND the alternative option of polymer notes is investigated so as to better allow people a choice (more American in my way of thinking) - then go for it! Bring 'em on!

Besides that I am looking forward to having a little stamp made to modify and circulate (as many as I possibly can) certain future issues of the series.

There are very few, if ANY topics I see pushed in the media anymore that I can say, after trying to study both sides and find the truth, that logic will allow me to side with the media on. And I am weird in that my main goal in life is to be wise instead of knowledgeable. Pure knowledge can be false. Wisdom - the way I am using the term anyway - is being able to discern which bank of knowledge/opinion on a subject is closer to actual fact, and then adopting the facts as they sit. And yes, I have been given the nickname of Spock at different times in my life b/c of this.

Pepsi:
The specialists at Hershey Med Center told me I NEED doses of caffeine for my specific condition health. And Pepsi is on of the things they told me would be good for this
...so I have a "prescription" for Pepsi

OK - I admit - I am drinking the not-as-good no-calorie type though.

You. Lucky. Dog.

I alternate between Pepsi (HFCS), Pepsi Throwback (beet sugar), and Pepsi Next (HFCS and artificial sweeteners for 60% fewer calories). I will drink Diet Pepsi and Pepsi Max (zero calorie) if I have to, but prefer not to.

I do limit myself to one Pepsi per day. Moderation in all things.

I have no problem with that option. The issue, as I see it, is where the dollar coin has one opponent (the paper lobby), a polymer note would have at least two (the paper lobby and the US Mint, which wants the dollar coin seigniorage).

That being said, I would like to see a polymer lobby get some press.
