Help! Delaware State Quarter - Coin Community Forum

loosechange11 New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 02/01/2013 12:13 pm So I found a Delaware State Quarter the other day and found an obvious blemish and as I started researching, I found some other markings I would have normally passed over. Please let me know what you think! On the Delaware side: There's a major dent thats smooth to the touch to the upper right. Also on the rider's foot there is absolutely no stirrup. It also appears that the horse has never had a bridle, its not worn away or anything its completely smooth. On the washington side: This side is almost completely flat. The you in United is almost completely in the coin and barely is raised. the F in OF is not even there.. and the R in quarter dollaR is more raised than any other coin I've seen. Zimmy Valued Member United States 461 Posts	Posted 02/01/2013 2:21 pm Definitely exposed to high heat. Caused trapped gas between clad layer to expand. Also, the dark, fuzzy surfaces are typical signs as well. Report this Post to the Staff
