Quote: I ship expedited all the time to the states and have never had a problem tracking the item. Same here. No problems tracking all the way to its final USA destination... and I`m talking Canada Post labels purchased via the Paypal interface.

Yes. I am simply saying that NONE of the tracking numbers I have purchased from PAYPAL shipping for deliveries OUTSIDE Canada work. Even ones where I have acknowledgement of receipt from the buyer show NOTHING. At least one of these was EXPEDITED SHIPPING. If the Canada Post web site does not show DELIVERED then you have NOTHING and you will pay back the buyer out of your own pocket.
Paypal says talk to Canada Post about reimbursement. Canada Post says they only reimburse if the tracking works therefore it's not their problem; talk to Paypal.
You have NO WAY OF KNOWING if your tracking number works until 24? hrs after you have delivered the package to the post office.
Anyway, that's all I have to say on the subject. Best of luck to you all.

Now you say at least one of them is expedited, I could give you ten more expidited tracking numbers that work fine. So it's just strange that PayPal gives you bad tracking numbers. Are you sure you're not referring to small packet or light packet, because those numbers PayPal gives are not tracking numbers. If it doesn't have a barcode on it, it probably doesn't have tracking.

We are talking about OUTSIDE of Canada, no need to yell.

The status of my packages (again, from labels printed via Paypal) shows as `accepted at post office` in as little as 10 minutes on the Canada Post website. I also make sure they scan the barcode when I hand in the package to make sure there are no issues with the printed barcode.

The guy obviously doesn't ship many expedited parcels. I have had an update within a couple of minutes but sometimes it does take a couple hours but not 24h I would love to see some of these (tracking numbers) to the states. I don't mean to labour the situation but you're bashing Canadapost and PayPal for a non issue.

Quote: The guy obviously doesn't ship many expedited parcels. Yup.. probably using USA Small Packets. Lets make this simple: A barcode on the printed label = tracking to its final destination No barcode on the printed label = no tracking (Paypal still issues what appears to be a tracking number, but it`s basically just an order number). Besides, how can a package be tracked if it can`t be scanned (barcode).

Ok. 1 more comment. I have a pile AN INCH THICK of these labels. As I stated even EXPEDITED SHIPPING, not small packets, light packets or anything else. With bar codes and tracking numbers. I sold almost $10k worth in almost 350 transactions in January alone. I have a 100% perfect feedback score. I'm at the post office every day with 10-20 packages going out (most first class). So don't tell me I don't know what I'm doing.

You can be smug in your 'knowledge' that what you're doing is 'right' (just as I was) right up to the point where Paypal empties your account. I am simply giving you fair warning as to my experience. You can accept it or ignore it as you wish. You, as the seller, must provide proof of delivery. Neither Canada Post nor Paypal has any interest in or financial incentive to assist you with that.

I'm going by what you said, you said at least one was expedited. I took from that, that you don't ship expedited that often. That tracking number is not in the system from what I can tell. Please provide a tracking number that stopped tracking when it hit the USA, since you have a pile. I'm just saying its strange that every single expedited and express I've shipped to the USA has tracked fine. (All from PayPal) I just want to get the truth, so people aren't scared to ship expedited to the USA

At the time of my earliest post I had not gone through and verified every tracking number so I simply reported the number I had verified. I have now gone through every tracking number I have purchased from Paypal during the last 6 weeks. All within Canada track. All outside Canada do not. I never said they stopped tracking when they hit the US. I said they don't track AT ALL. I never said this was a US specific problem. Germany, Australia, France, Austria, Switzerland, take your pick. Paypal has no incentive to investigate the problem. Take from that what you will.

Ebay/Paypal completely ripoff the seller. It's all about them pinching us to pad their own pockets. Long gone are the days when a seller could get by on reputation. The day they removed the ability for sellers to leave negative feedback is the day it all went to . The feedback system was broken, horribly skewed towards the seller, but the solution was to require hidden feedback that would only show up/take effect once both parties have left it. That way, a buyer could potentially leave a negative without getting one, which was the whole point.

I've channeled over $400k through them in the past 2 years as both a buyer and a seller. 'Power Seller', 'Top-Rated Seller', 'Preferred Client', .... None of it means a thing when push comes to shove.

with you Kuh.... ebay - Paypal have Ins. to cover losses ..So imho they should be responcible if there is a loss and they should take it up with either PO... Our duties as sellers ends once the item is in the hands of the PO... hummm wonder what would happen if someone started a class action against them ? I bet then things would change. and On the feedback I also agree that we as sellers have no protection at all.. The buyer has all the power thanks to ebay. I say remove feedback all together or fix it so that no negative can be left until buyer and seller have worked together .and only then should it be left.

The power now lies with the purchaser because there were too many sellers that would rip people off and say they sent it when they didn't. This has now gone the other way allowing the buyers to rip off the seller but you will never get a completely happy balance. The feedback I can see, if I pay right away and you cant seem to send the package or the right package, ect. the feedback should not be even, I fulfilled my obligations whereas the seller has not meaning that I should get positive and depending on the scenario, the seller should not. I usually try to seek resolution before I leave negative feedback though.
I am on the purchasing end and have had international items I have not received and had no tracking which ended up saving me from losing my money so I think its great, but from the recommendation above the responsibility should stop at the post office? what about the person who dropped the money? how would they be protected out of that? just a thought..

Lol Now you're talking about international, the only way to get tracking to international destinations is to pay for express shipping. I'd still love to see an active tracking # from a expedited parcel or express. I have a feeling you're talking about small packet air, because small packet does not have tracking. I'm not saying I agree with PayPal or ebay, I'm just stating facts, expedited tracks no problem to USA, and expedited is not available for international delivery.
