I'd long wanted one of these, my dad had one in the early sixties, and this one was advertised as a medallion. Without showing the blades, which I doubt the vendor realised existed.
And I was the sole bidder.

Very cool! Is it an altered real coin or a replica? how much did you win it for?

I've seen them made from many dfferent coins of that size.
I,too, aspire to own one, but I'm waiting for a particular coin variety to come along.

Very very cool! I have a 1949 coin knife too, but not like that... It's just a folding knife with a loop on the end with a 1949 bird farthing in it.. I like yours more! Hidden blades! I agree.. I want one to come out in a coin I love, even if its a fake coin!
Actually here's a pic of my "coin knife", I just happened to have a few on my phone. On the blade it says "Richards Sheffield England, with a lamppost... It's kinda neat.. But again I like yours more!

The peseta is in fact a replica, nickel coated brass. I won it and a papal medallion for £0.99.

The Richardson farthing knife was, as I remember, sold as a pipe cleaning tool.
