@Bibo
I only have one account at the mint.
I got 10 at Gatewest before they limit to 3, then 1, then now they went back to limit 5.
And another 2 at Colonial Acres.

So I'm now at 13, looking to have a few more.

Currently only Gatewest still has stock available. If you want to buy more rolls, you can create more accounts at Gatewest and each account can buy 5 rolls.

There is another on-line dealer who has 12 available at the low low price of 24.99/roll. No limit.

In 1965 the portrait changed, and the 1964 pennies were hoarded. Granted, it was also a big mintage that was not surpassed for a decade.

These rolls are a bit special, but there are 20000 of them. And there seems to major hoarding of normal boxes and rolls.

I'd love to know if this dealer has this stock ' IN HAND ', or is he doing a 'PRE-SALE'?

I 'reviewed' the penny roll at the mint.ca - I wonder if they will publish it?

Headline: February 5th... Ottawa still distributing

Pros : Unusual
Cons : Way Over Face Value
Best Uses : Fountain Drain Clogger
Describe Yourself : One Time Penny Collector
Was this a gift? : No

Does anybody have a problem with the mint distributing pennies after the Canadian Government said they would no longer distribute pennies after February 4th 2013?

Seems awful presumptuous of them - especially at $10 a roll of 50 cents.

Wow. I am selling Mint rolls of 2012 Pennies for $8, and making a profit. $10 plus shipping for a fancy wrapper? Pass. The official mint roll is MUCH more attractive, appropriate, and commemorative.

why everybody is so concerned with the penny content of the roll?
why don't you complain that 25c. (let's even skip dino) grosbeak is selling for $30 ? or 1oz maple leaf is $110 when precious metal content is $32 ?

^^^
because they're just pennies, albeit wrapped nicely
if it glowed in the dark, contained more (well.. more than a bit more) than a penny's worth of metal, or was gold plated or something, it'd justify the price.
Rest in Peace

'' they've taken them out of the sets, only to release them separate. It just seems inappropriate to sell them like this at this time.

If they did that last may - when they were last actually produced - I think it would have made more sense - timing is everything, and this was just a cash grab with all the news of the now - non-distributed penny - "but we'll sell it to you with a special wrapper" (I'm surprised it doesn't come with a stick of gum - like hockey cards used to.)

I think the mint might publish your review as well.
