I might be willing to pay someone $15 for their dino in a couple of months, if hoarders are desperately looking to get rid of them that is.

Which coin do you all think will be at "awaiting stock" or "sold out" status on Mint page?
Right now only the 1oz PML and 5 oz SML are sold out.

Apparently there is talk that the Mint might raise the per household limits on these.... but if they do it probably won't happen until Monday/Tuesday of next week.

If they raise the limits per household, this should help the coin sold out more quickly.

The Mint page is down is morning.
Too many orders at the same time or expecting some new coins come.

Absolutely Idiotic to apply such low purchase limit when no other retailer did. Just stupid policy from the mint. Pandering to the lowest common denominator. This is only because people complained after noticing that coins were selling for above retail on ebay and people that waited to long could not buy any because they sold out already. If you snooze you loose. I lost all respect of the mint last year with their shipping date fiasco. This organization is very difficult to do business with. Lets hope they come to their senses and increase purchase limits.

Quote: Absolutely Idiotic to apply such low purchase limit when no other retailer did. Like, at ColAcres, Gatewest, J&M, Canadian Coin & Currency, Talisman you can buy at issue price and with limits higher than 3? What "other retailer" did I miss ?

J&M hasn't released them yet, colonial acres didn't have limits at first, cdncoin didn't have a limit at first. I'm not sure about talisman.

yes, I know couple of retailers didn't have a limit for a short period of time (and I took advantage of it ;-) ) my point is that statement about "no other retailer" is lie. And calling RCM idiots based on that is not nice. Moreover, if they didn't have these limits, forum again would be overflown with " RCM did not let us buy stuff, they should have limits" tears (ref. to 5 penny set topics)

5 penny set did have a limit and sold out. Now people are upset because they couldn't profit, not because they missed out. And the mint is full of idiots and they deserve it. To many bad policy choices in the past year. Poor website, just try and cancel your order online or figure out whats been shipped in your order. Reduced value of their products. They keep increasing prices and giving you less. Look at the silver proof set this year, no penny same price as last year. You can defend the mint all you want, but the reality is they are not as good a company as your reality may allow you to believe. Why is it that when I deal with Canada post I can buy more product and get it sooner. Free shipping on Canada post orders, you don't have to be a MC member. As for Quote: my point is that statement about "no other retailer" is lie. It's not a lie, at the time of release the Mint was the only retailer with such a low purchase limit. You even agreed with me on this point. The others scaled back their purchase limits as the coin started to sell out because you could not buy more than 3 from the mint. Canada post never changed their purchase limits.

Help me understand... To me, the RCM launched the new GITD Dinosaur coin with an ordering limit to help ensure the coins would have a reasonably wide distribution among interested collectors. Now, the RCM is considering raising/removing the ordering limit on the new GITD Dinosaur coin because it is experiencing lower than expected demand in terms of individual orders for the coin. This would seem to indicate that they have more supply than demand from interested collectors. I think most folks agreed that the second Dinosaur coin would not enjoy the level of media hype surrounding the first coin. So, with fewer non-collectors hearing about the second coin, orders for it are likely mostly coming from collectors. Maybe the RCM over-estimated the number of collectors interested in its GITD series? Some here (and on other forums) appear to believe that if the purchasing restrictions are removed that it would be smart to purchase additional groups of these coins for the purpose of resale at a profit. If the RCM can't attract enough individual collectors to purchase their supply at issue price, what are the market drivers others see that make them confident they can sell them at a profit on their own? Where will they find the collectors that the RCM can't? I know ebay offers a global sales outlet and that sometimes folks pay exorbitant prices for things they can get cheaper elsewhere, but are there enough of those folks out there? Thoughts?
