Thanks for your advice Dooby,
Will do.
I do plan to exchange any SML coins with them. :). Just expect if I can exchange some Mongolian Wildlife Series coins from them.
Cheers

Sorry to jump in again, the more I think of your situation, the more complex it becomes because of the value of your goods.
Duty Free 1. Gifts bringing into Taiwan ~$200 CAD 2. Personal Goods ~$700 CAD
I don't know if your SML's would be considered commercial goods for sale or trade and I found indications of special regs for gold, silver, old coins. There is also currency export restrictions. (Based on Quantas site for departing passengers). It looks like there is a VAT tax on goods that exceed these values.
Good luck and have a great trip.

Thanks for your kindly remind.
As I said on the first page. I do not worry about the custom at the destination side.

Can elaborate more on customs (for group knowledge)? I always find it is good to learn more.
Sorry, I've met more that a few people that have said they were "ok" with customs and it turned out the customs agent had a very different opinion, only trying to be helpful. (everything from the surprise VAT, import permits, carrying commercial goods without a carriers license or insurance, no declaration form, country of origin, overvalued goods, no importers license etc...). Our company now ships most items ahead of time to avoid border problems.

True that. But most of my problems have been in the US and Canada. Not many problems traveling in Asia. Did get busted smuggling alcohol into Kuwait. The guy just seized it and let me go. Probably drank it after work.
