Shame its such an awful price. I would love to own all 4 coins, being a Russian citizen, born and lived there until 9 I would like to have more Russian coins. However, I do find that Russia always issues sterling silver as bullion...weird, they have always been like this. I love the coat of arms though, looks so powerful, and for me, obviously has a lot of significance.

Here is a coin my grandmother gave me as a gift hen my mom went to visit last year, its a Russian bullion coin. I'm not a fan of the design, and the coat of arms looks more like a chicken rather than a 2 headed eagle lol...but its a special coin for me I will never sell :P ( along with maples...and the rest of my collection haha)

The baseball series might end up being pretty rare.... I haven't heard anyone say that they actually bought one.

Makes sense.... I know that the world Mints exchange coins that don't sell very well domestically... which is why the Russian and Chinese coins available currently at the RCM.

Want to share some picture of the USSR NCLT (1991) that I have.

This what I call "pure soviet NCLT coin" -
proof silver coin, with standard (for that times) purity of the .900
(as I understand, US Mint uses the same standard for the NCLT coins);
commemorates important milestone;
beautiful obverse with the USSR Coat of Arms.

Here it is:

Coin:
30th anniversary of the first human flight into space (1961-1991)
monument on Gagarin Square in Moscow, stars in the background, dates: "1961", "1991"

Weight - 31.1 g

Mintage - 25.000 (I saw different sources, where 40.000 appears)

Need to say - happy to own it in my collection

Looks like some more Sochi coins are available. Same crazy pricing and same high mintage but now you get a 'free' collector box (valued at $50).

I bought the 4 silver baseball coin set when they were on deal of the week at CCC for $74.99 each I believe it was,so like $300, If my memory serves me right. Plus I got the bonus Blue Jay medallion and stamp set for free, like $15 value. But I would not have paid full price for them which is $114 each. That said I really do like them , as with most coins they look better in hand then on the mints website.

Thanks, CC-Ottawa for update.

IMO - or to collect them all, or just that one, that you like, or actually, the sports that you like.

As for coins themselves - they just boring. Poor design and .925 purity. Only small colored element (flower/plant) looks cute. Canadian 1976 coins (the proof sets, wooden boxes) even looks nicer.

All that said, since I really expect from Russia some nice bullion / commemorative .999 silver coin. And they do not mint any (having resources and 2 mints)
