And let me ask you this: Has he left positive feedback for your timely payment? I know the answer because I already looked. It's NO. And so the question becomes "why not"? I'll answer THAT too: It's either because he's lazy or he's holding your DESERVED feedback hostage until he receives yours first.
(Sorry...I know....I'm ranting.)

@weerdsteev, I understand the Buffalo nickel was acid treated. I made a post on this forum about the buffalo's I needed but only two people contacted me. One person sold me the 1913s type 2 acid treated for 30. The other I didn't buy from because I found the coins cheaper on ebay. I didn't really know why the seller put estate. But I just though it was an "extra tag". In fact, I think I over paid for it right? The 1915-s is worth 48 in good. So once the coins are "treated" they should be worth 10% of the value? The part that makes me laugh is, he put look at the horn! *added* That is true what you just said. He didn't leave feedback. He wants me to leave it first.

Solotime: In my ebay ads I draw attention to the horn, too. But I also am very clear that it's a restored coin and that I was the one who restored it. Regarding your 10% question: There is no rule on how much value deterioration there is from an original date coin to a restored coin. The difference is substantial but it can vary based on a LOT of factors, the biggest ones being "how good does it look and how much do you want it?"

I guess that is true, lol. I wanted the 1915-s pretty bad so I found this one ending soon. I got a full acid treated roll of: 1917, 1916 and 1919. I just thought it would be cool to make the rolls of them. I think I want a full roll of acid treated 1916s. I got like 5 1916s buffalo's right now. What I did was, I bought a bag of 500 no dates with mint marks and with no mint marks. I acid treated all 500 and 497 dates can be seen. The other 3 someone sanded the date off. I found some pretty good dates in there. But this was like 4 years ago when I bought them. I still have them all.

I just send them a quick note and say I'm drafting my review..."what should I say about your shipping speed?"

If he only took 5 days to ship, and he specifically lists 5-12 business days, then I am not sure why this is even a question. ZERO reason to do anything less than 5 stars. He did exactly what he said he would do.

You ask a question here, it gets answered here. How would I feel if a seller did exactly what he said he would do? I would feel fine. I would NOT expect the coin any quicker than what he put in the listing. And IF he did do it quicker consider myself to be lucky. Nothing I have siad is rude or wrong, just plain blunt truth. Quote: Does anybody really believe he's auctioning off coins from an ESTATE Sorry, but yeah, I do indeed believe he could be. Half of what is in my store are coins I am selling from an estate. Remember, estate simply means they are coins that were left to someone and are now being sold. That can be done the way I am, on consignment, or by purchasing them and reselling. As this seller has shown no reason that I can see to doubt that, I have no problem believing it.

I've not sold anything on ebay but have sold coins to fellow collectors. There are times when I cannot get to the Post Office for various reasons even when I wanted to. I'm guessing that most people don't have a PO right around the corner. I always let the buyer know when it's been shipped.

smokeriderdon: At the time that I made my comment about "Estates", about the only coins he had sold or was selling were some pretty low grade Buffalo nickels. Looking at his ebay offerings NOW, I'm forced to admit that even by my definition of an estate that it is entirely possible and even likely that's what he is\was selling. I jumped to a conclusion based on his initial group of offerings. Bad on me. If your comments that you summed up by saying, "Nothing I have siad(sic) is rude or wrong, just plain blunt truth" was directed towards some of the stuff I was saying, I agree wholeheartedly that there was nothing rude in what you said and I sure didn't take that way. I will continue to maintain, however, that regardless of what sort of time frame for delivery he outlines in his listings, he needs to make a reasonable effort to get it shipped pretty quickly once he has the buyer's money. As I said somewhere up above, I wouldn't penalize him with a bad DSR rating for "only doing what he said he'd do", I would simply ignore his DSRs altogether but give him a positive feedback if the coin was as advertised. (Not offering THAT as advice...just saying that's what I would do)

Reading this topic from start to finish, I agree w/ smokeriderdon... since the auction stated that shipment could take up to 12 days, then one would have to expect that possiblility could/might exist. If the worst case scenario isn't acceptable, then you shouldn't buy from that seller.

As a seller this kind of stuff drives me crazy. A couple of weeks ago I had a buyer buy on Friday. My listings says three days handling. My post office is closed on Saturday so could not possibly get it in the mail until Monday morning. Saturday afternoon she emails me and says "I just wanted to remind you that you haven't shipped my thing. Please do so at your earliest convenience." I email back saying stuff about how my closest post office is closed and that it will be sent first thing on Monday. Sunday I go ahead and box it up and do the shipping stuff and mark item as shipped. Almost immediately I get "positive" feedback from the individual with 1 star for shipping time. I hadn't even placed it in the mail yet. It was only Sunday for pete's sake. I emailed her back and said "thanks" for the feedback but that next time she ought to wait until she actually receives the item. Then blocked her. Obviously this is a little different situation but like stated earlier, if you were not willing to wait 12 days for the item to be shipped then you shouldn't have bid on it. Seller did exactly what he said he would do. There are a multitude of reasons why your coin may not have been put in the mail as quickly as you would have liked. People's lives don't revolve around their ebay schedule. I'm lucky if I can get to the post office twice in one week. Is there really such a thing as "get my coin to me, it's an emergency"? Sorry, I've been waiting for a chance to vent on this a little. I'm not taking it out on anyone but the buyer in my case really raked my skin. Again, apologies.

He also states he will usually ship within 3 days of payment. They love fast payment but sometimes won't get off their keister to ship in a timely fashion. I do both selling and buying. I would never treat somebody that way. It goes in the mail the next day if they pay up. Waiting 5 days to put it in the mail is totally unacceptable to me.
