Here's mine I just picked up for my site - hope it doesn't sell for quite a while, I love it!

It was sold to me as shipwreck effect, but honestly I haven't seen enough saltwater coins to verify. It looks to me like much heavier corrosion than any of the shipwreck coins I've seen. Not too worried about it either way, honestly.

Moe, which obverse die is that '61 O of yours? I picked up a few and I'm trying to get smart about the dies so I can compare what I've got. The others aren't like this 102...

Thanky!

It's a just regular Phillie mint.

And I really have no idea what obverse it is. And I have no reference material to help me out with 3 Cent Silvers...

So...

I'll throw it our to the judges... Judges?

Wait, your second coin isn't a '61 O Half? I coulda sworn...

Well, it looks like it is to me, so while I embark on my studies I'll take your pictures and figure it out for you. Them sure are purty!

Some really nice stuff.
Scropper I really like the 1861 half and I have seen some shipwreck effect coins look that way. I cannot find it on your site. where is it? What do you want for it?

I'm sorry, my friend! I thought you were talking about the 1861 3 Cent Silver I posted!! Of course, it's an 1861 O Half Dollar (from New Orleans).

Unfortunately, I still don't know which obverse it is. I do know it doesn't appear to be the obverse that can defintely be determined to be a Confederate Sates of America minted half (with the die crack from the bridge of Liberty's nose).

Born in the middle of the conflict on the left coast she grew through the taming of the west and then the industrial revolution. She was passed during the first world war and possibly paid for a beverage during the prohibition time. In her senior years she made it through the tough times of the depression and then a second world war. She had seen two sisters and two brothers coined in her denomination and was quietly resting in a roll with them when she came to me in the 80's.

Beautiful! And to think you got this little family from a roll.

I think we need an applause emoticon - I would be using it now.
