Yes, I like 'em like that. I just realized from the pictures there is a clash on the obverse as well by Liberty's face and behind her. I can't wait to get home tonight and look at it.

civilwarcoincollector, thanks for starting this thread!

civilwarcoincollector, it's not up yet. I can tell you it won't be cheap because I'm not particularly interested in selling it! I sure appreciate the inquiry, though!

Moe, after some serious studying and playing a bit with pictures, it seems to me yours is an EDS of the WB-102, the same obverse die as the cracked CSA obverse. I'd take it to an expert, but I'm pretty convinced!

Probably not, but I bought it for the clear, sharp details. I'm not an expert though, so maybe the surfaces are original after all. The seller claimed that he hadn't cleaned it and I certainly haven't.

What's the 2 cent piece called? Is it a 2 cent nickel or what is the common name?

Thanks.

I have not seen them referred to as anything else really unless it is the abbreviated 2cn. The Three Cent Silver is often called a trime or a fishscale. Good question!

I really haven't collected a whole lot of anything else but Seated Liberty half dollars for quite a few years now. It's been an all-encompassing task!!

I just realized the 1863 Half Dollar I posted had a previous 1863 reverse posted with it.

Here's the true obverse with the true reverse:
