Long term storage in PVC type pages will usually end up with the coins being affected in this manner. Pure Acetone would normally be purchased at a large Hardware chain, Bunnings, Masters, Mitre10. Not sure if any of those exist in the UK, but try the stores where you normally buy paint and paint thinners etc. Here in Australia it comes in a 1 Litre bottle and costs around AU$10.
