Knock, knock knock.....hello is there any one out there?
Pretty quiet here, I wish I had something to input but it looks like we're going to be hanging around these numbers for awhile. Anyone have a deck of cards?
cheers

Just watching them slide sideways to down. Have been playing the miners though and doing well. They have been beat up for a long time now. nlp

Hi guys!

Well, I am back after a rest here, my apologies for not keeping this updated, but we'll be soon on track!

I want to talk a bit about what we been seeing- NOTHING!

Lets talk silver. We had a rip snorting counter trend rally in this metal in June and peaked out on the 10th of July. Since then, its been nothing but down down down down. just a slow, choppy grind down. Absolutely boring. What should we be looking for at this point? For starters, lets see if silver will test the june 2nd lows.

at that point it will be interesting to see if those lows hold or do they give way and set up for lower prices.

Gold has also act the same way as silver. Peaked at july 10, and been running lower since, with a lot of chop and sideways action. Its interesting that massive move on 6/19 has been completely erased and just like that, been given up. Once again, just like silver, is gold going to come in and test the June 2nd lows? Do these hold? Does it bounce in this area?

Where are prices going? Are we done with this downtrend? I dont see any clear evidence yet that that the downtrend is done. One big negative is that gold and silver continue with these big gains followed by big losses.

Just about everyone wants to see higher prices. So what do we need to see? We need to see a time period where we have this long period of NOTHING.... where we have gold and silver just barely moving in any direction, followed by steady buying, accumulation, followed by more periods of nothing,,, just holding those gains and consolidating, before again repeating this price action.

Ill have some charts up this weekend. These two boring months in the markets are going to be soon behind us and I expect in the coming months gold and silver will show us what happens next. So hang in there and dont lose patience!

I bought 3 rolls of ASE's at $20 so I knew it would move lower. Sometimes I buy just to make it move lower. If we could just get back around $10 I will double down on the stack. I would really love to see a strong move down in gold. It would be nice to see some of the $20 gold coins hit the market in a panic.

Would be nice, wouldn't it? Unfortunately, there will be no silver to be had at that price. Premiums would eat up the difference in any savings.

On holidays yup did you get sunburnt or frostbite?

I have found at bricks and mortar auctions that most silver coins are at low and very low prices.

Have been picking the eyes out of auction leftovers!

It is very happy hunting. Some bidders are buying high and the same items in a different lot/lots are getting left at res. Very nice pickings if you can hold a bit extra in cost for a proof silver coin.

ebay seems to be very over priced! The mints are outrageous they seem to have too much to loose so there prices are totally out of touch. There still selling out. It is not hard to get 5 silver 1oz proof coins for under the price of 2 Perth Mint 1oz silver proof's coins.

The CCF silver chart and this thread are my most frequented place online! I am hooked! It has been great thinking outside the square! It has been very interesting how this thread has directed me with silver coin buying.

If you use the same sort of price action line in different buying arenas. This is where I have ended up! Very Happy!

Yup: I, (and I am sure many more) are waiting on you to tell us to "BUY!". I will accumulate cash and wait for the word. I'd love to buy now, but want to wait for the "GO" from Yup.

If it's not soon, I can wait. If you can call it right and have me wait until it hits $10, i'll be able to double down. However, if you don't tell us to "Buy" and it hits $30, these 177 pages lose all credibility.

Balls in your court Yup, sooner or later you will have to provide direction and not just talk about what already happened.

Yup is not a fortune teller!

Price action is going to show us when an upward movement is the way prices are is going to happen.

To call the bottom of the market is not going to happen!

All yup's calls have been, up a bit, down a lot and boring sideways movement.

We are in the bottom area and have been for some time.

I might have it wrong but the message I am getting is to beat the buying price on the silvers chart and discern what type of silver is a great price at any given time in this bottom movement.

If I can buy 1oz proof silver coins at $40 each I believe I have found the bottom of my market.

Silver rounds 1oz in the USA market place have had some extremely good buys that I can not match from Australia. Bobby and others have been calling some great buys in this forum.

It is time to look for great buys that put price action heaps lower than the silver's chart.

Keep looking for buys that beat the dealers buying price.

Look at every avenue where silver is sold. Look and make some decisions. Buys what beats the silvers chart is to abound in the market place. Find your own silver's bottom price.

Either you are apart of the team or you are on the sidelines.

But for me to make a profit at the bottom is not what I am looking for. yup is going to tell us when profit will come back into the silvers market place!

I am a nobody with very new found knowledge. If I am wrong I will be smashed on this thread that is for sure! There is nowhere for me to hide after writing these comments.

Hey guys thanks for the welcome's back! It was good to be out for a while and glad to be back here with everyone and the entire community that I enjoy!

When I come here, its very encouraging to see on this thread how many of you can see the narrative we are getting by observing price movements on a daily basis, and however boring and silly it seems that they go up and down, this price action is painting the big picture, each day that goes by we get clues and we get one day closer to what the market proposes to do next.

Kg5 is exactly right: I am not a fortune teller. I cannot call a bottom, I cannot call a top. No one can, no one ever will, it is impossible. Its been tried for decades, ever since markets have been open, and no one has ever called an exact bottom or top in any asset.

In fact, what is important in speculating is not looking for that exact bottom or top. What is of utmost importance is observing and getting confirmation when that move of importance happens, whether it is selling or buying.

To do that, we need to patiently watch and follow price action, followed by volume and thats exactly what we have been doing together for these past 177 pages.

sure, someone could say that we are going no where, same place same spot. Yes thats true, but that should be of no surprise, as if you have been following closely this thread, you will see we have discussed many times how prices repeat. This is all part of the process, prices repeating, coupled with the element of time.

For that reason, we cannot say that $10 dollar is the "bottom". Perhaps it rips way below 10. Maybe we never see 10 again. So instead of blindly trying to guess a number, it is better to allow price show us where it wants to go.

For the time being, we havent seen that. If anything, we see a clear downtrend in silver, one that, once again, is giving all the signs that it wants to retest its yearly lows.

As I have said many times, the more an area of price is probed, the higher the probability that it gets breached. At the rate that silver is going, its entirely possible we again see those lows in silver from late May. What happens from there, we have to wait and see.

One thing is clear:, price has memory and silver is running into areas of support from previous years and bouncing off them. But again, the more an area is tested, the more likely an area finally gives in. This happens as price moves up and down.

Finally let me say this- the ball is NOT in my court. It is not up to me to decide what the prices will be, when to buy or sell; thats the markets job. My job is to pay attention to price because price never lies. It never has led me astray once and it will confirm when its time to buy or sell. When its time to sell or buy, I will be ready because I have been waiting, putting the pieces together and finishing the picture its been painting for me.

Next up, just two simple charts to illustrate where we stand with gold and silver.

What-Happens-To-Gold-And-Silver-Next?-Look-Out-Below?

Ok here we have a look at Silver, a one year look, from where it started at to our present point in time.

Lets look at a few things to see where we stand

1- Notice where the red arrow is. Now look at the line with white arrow. Between these two aqua lines we can see a clear trading range that silver has been in. We can see that in early August it broke out of the range, to the down side.

2- Take a look at the aqua line at the lower end, see the various green arrows? These mark points where the yearly low in price, 3 times its come into these lows and managed to bounce.

From the price action here, the sideways movement we saw starting in late June was resolved to the downside when in early August it broke lower. It is now at the low end, and we can see that silver in the past and chopped around here as well.

The next probable action would be for silver to test its yearly lows, around the 18.60is area.

At that point, any scenario is possible.

A- Silver hits the 18.60is area and once again bounces hard off of it, which would be very comical to see lol

B- Silver crashes through 18.60ish, makes fresh yearly lows, which strengths the momentum and strength of the downtrend, and silver moves lower, making newer fresher yearly lows

C- Silver chops around and goes sideways in the lower end of the range,(refer to the price action where the green arrows are) once again until it resolves its direction by breaking back up or down.

This is why being patient and just sitting back and watching is key. Do not allow yourself to get exasperated or anxious of the next move. Just sit tight, wait and watch.

So my friends that is where we stand on silver. For me a trader, I would be looking to sell short a small line at a break around 18.60ish

As a dealer I would like to respond on comments about premiums. Premiums don't last forever. They usually only last till either the market decides the prices really are not going to go back up. In which case they need to lower their premiums NOW before 'everyone' else, figures it out and lowers their prices. Or it becomes the case where your customers will not buy because your premiums are so hi.

Typically you get people in who will buy when they see the price has gone down. They don't even look at the premiums; until they get home are realize they did not make a good deal. THOSE customers probably will not be back.

Then you have the people who are looking for a deal because they see the price of silver has gone lower and then get angry because the premiums are so high. Now I know lots of dealers that get upset over this one. They have NO problem buying a Morgan silver dollar at $13 and selling at $35. But Heaven forbid if the price of silver tanks 30 percent and the customer expects the price to go down to $28! Those customers will probably NOT come back.

All of this combines to form downward pressure on premiums.

One of the most successful dealers in my area bought at a dollar under spot and sold at a dollar over spot. In the long run he was very, very profitable. Sure he had to sell occasionally at a loss. But anyone with a good accountant knows you can turn that into a tax advantage.

Premiums almost always come down. Almost always. Unless there is a price adjustment UP before the decision is made to lower prices.

Hey what can I say,, its been a very narrow, boring range for both gold and silver. Nothing doing in the short term, and remember, this is all part of painting the overall picture.

At one point, the market will show its hand.

I do think as we exit August and as we get into September we get a better idea of whats going to happen.

yup7676, hit basics for a moment. What do you think silver and gold will do in the next 3 months? I don't want you to mind read, or be a super intellectual prediction expert, just in your own thoughts, what do YOU think.
