Silver is a screaming buy right now, especially in US dollars (as compared to Canadian dollars).

Hopefully it's just fear buying going on right now. I have some cash sitting waiting to jump into silver, but waiting on the price to come down into the $14.50 range. I'm no expert, just been reading and from what I've read next month will be when I'm watching it closely. Maybe due to tax time? My gut just tells me to be patient.

While a 10% drop isn't unthinkable.... right now both gold and silver are moving upwards.... you might be waiting awhile....

Course I've also heard this song a few times on other boards...

When silver was at $35 there were folks saying gee once silver hits $30 I'm backing up the truck
When silver was at $30 there were folks saying gee once silver hits $25 I'm backing up the truck
When silver was at $25 there were folks saying gee once silver hits $20 I'm backing up the truck

ad nausium.....

Some people are happy to make all the calls they want from the sidelines... I put my money where my mouth is!! even made a thread about it ... here https://goccf.com/t/254056

has more to do with the GSR .. but still I don't just talk the game.. I PLAY it!

So glad I don't have a truck to back up - I'd be in such a pickle . . .

I bought 50 ounces of silver in mid-Feb. Paypal-credit option allows me 6 months, interest free.

I took the gamble. If silver hits $16.37, I break even.

My local coin shop buys 10oz bars @ .50 above spot.

As of today, I'm about $20 in the hole, with 5 more months to go.

Heck, I've don't stupider things with a $20 bill in my lifetime.

Truth be told, I'll be tickled if I'm able to walk away from this with an impaired ASE to put in my pocket.

I been really busy here so just a few thoughts-

The big event today- Silver

Remember how we have been talking about, (refer to our last charts) we have been saying for weeks now that silver has been lagging and that until 16 is broken, really silver is lagging.

well, if you have been paying attention, 15.99 was broken. That is a positive. However, silver did not manage to hold the b/o, and closed the session below 16.

Does that mean that is it for silver? No. We could see tomorrow another attempt to run over todays high, which was 16.08 If that doesn't happen, it doesn't mean that silver isn't going higher. I suspect silver in time makes another try at going over 16 so dont get desperate.

Price action is constructive for silver. Another attempt at 16 would not surprise me. Breaking 16 and staying above will imply and increase the probabilities of higher prices.

Gold, what can we say. Its clear that dip buyers are buying the dip. I am not a dip buyer of gold but if you buy the dips in gold, it wont hurt as we are in an uptrend. If you havent bought gold right here in these areas, you are missing out from the early move. You should be buying gold first and then silver. But hey, its your money, not mine, do as you please.

Gold is now starting to make a new range and breaking above from its current range. Our new range is roughly 1264 on the low end with 1288ish on the high end. We break 1288 we are getting NEW freshly highs. Again, you should be buying gold. You should have been buying gold when it first hit yearly highs back in 2/11. If you havent bought the dips, which I am not a dip buyer but it can work in uptrends because the trend is very strong and forgiving, you have missed buying a "bargain" if you a bargain buyer.

Miners- the gold miners remain very strong and the price construction is very positive. They are market leaders. Gold mining stocks are going higher from here. Period. They are and continue to make yearly highs and will continue to do this until the uptrend is done.

My two market tells for gold mining stocks are GOLD and FNV. Silver miners are moving up also.

Final thought- more and more commodities are starting to look very constructive. We have now sugar at yearly highs. Coffee has broken important trend lines. Do you spot a theme or trend? Yes, commodities are moving higher.

I hope to have an update with new charts this weekend, I just been so swamped at the desk here that I dont have much time for much else. Keep watching the price action, leave and check your opinions at the door and you will be fine. We are in an UPTREND in gold so dont ignore it, you should be buying gold right here right now.

I've been reading that the gold/silver ratio is very high, thus to buy silver. Who knows really. Glad we got some at the lowest point this cycle.

My IRA, all in silver miner GPL first, then, swapped for OTC Silvercrest, right before the last wave UP, has Doubled in 8 days...unfreakin believable...even when spot down now, 75% of my basket of major & minor gold-silver miners are green..GAME ON...and, this is JUST the beginning...I have, and love physical, but, my miners are truly remarkable in the percentage UP. I detest ETF's...they may go bust, when vaults get emptied, leaving investors in the dust. I have my own "Basket", and, I sleep very well at night now, for a change. Summer may bring stalls, but, by election time, if your not in, forget about it..will too late to grab the best profits. BUY and HOLD..no matter what happens...until the top.

@MontanaCMR

I dont have any mutual funds. I trade and yes I am building positions, buying on the way up, or pyramiding on the way up with gold with various financial instruments, all the way from futures, equities, leveraged ETFs and ETFs.

I am going long miners tho. I am going long individual names. I am in FNV and GOLD right now and trading around them. I am buying on the way up and then once I hit my amount I want to carry I will stop an sit on them and we'll see how far they go.

I have picked FNV and GOLD because they are at 52 highs and were some of the first names at 52 highs. The institutions are buying these names and sitting in them. FNV I like more technically because there is zero overhead supply in terms of price. In other words, there is no price memory at these levels as it hits 52 highs, it also is making ALL TIME highs so there is plenty of room to go much higher here and with less resistance.

I will be doing the same operations also with ETFs, as I have mentioned many times, in the last uptrend with gold, one place I bought on the way up and was a very large position was in GLD. I bought at 440s, 520s, 770s over multi years and then stopped buying and let it run over the funds inception, was a very profitable trade/investment that ran for many years until I walked away and sold, not near the top (no one does, rarely) but still walked away with a huge profit. Just goes to show you the power of trading, investing with a trend and momentum.

The two ETFs I like to pyramid/trade around and sit on and trade are GLD and GDX. The high liquidity is important for me.

Finally, for solely trading, I have been using NUGT, GLL, and UGL. These you cannot buy and hold, they only work for short term or trending multi day environments.

If you do buy a mutual fund with gold, silver miners, make sure they have the market leading names in the fund. I say this because some funds have different allocations for different miners and you want to be in the leading names for the industry because that is where you will get the most return on your money.

let me know if you need help in determining what names your mutual fund holds for miners.

yup7676--Newby to the PMs, but I do see what's going on with the dollar. Also very confused about wall street and what to be invested in.
"If you do buy a mutual fund with gold, silver miners, make sure they have the market leading names in the fund." Could you message me and let me know the names of these leading names you spoke of in the above quote?
Thank you,
zack

@Zack

The two companies are:

Randgold Resources, they are publicly traded and their ticker symbol is GOLD.

The other company is Franco Nevada Corp, ticker symbol FNV.

You can go to several web sites to get more information about these companies, which are gold miners. Check out yahoo finance or Google Finance and put the ticker symbols in. Another place to find more info about these companies is stocktwits.com one of the better social media sites relating to investing, trading and all in real time.
