Was going to wait until these arrived before posting but as its been a little quiet thought I would drop them in. 崇宁e宝 - Chong Ning Zhong Bao. 5 cash, both are 35mm+ and my first of this size. 1102-1106AD. 货泉 - Not as good quality as I would like but still pretty happy, Wang Mang Huo Quan, 14AD? I know little else about these two at present so feel free to add any info you have.

Nice coins BH, sorry if this is a bit of a novice question but how we're these coins made, are they cast or hammered?

I think they are very nice examples Bobby. You can still clean up the first pair a bit that should bring out more detail in the characters. Coinage123 these are cast coins.

Cast, hence the market today is flooded with fakes. Many were cast in 'trees' like this: I think this process continued for about 2000 years, I'm a noob myself with these!

Always wanted to have one of those, but the real ones are expensive when you can find them on the market.

Once again a very nice selection! Wang Mang ruled between 7AD-23AD in what is know as the Interregnum period - between the Western Han and Eastern Han Dynasties. Wikipedia has his biography at this link:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wang_MangYour coins were introduced in 14AD. The bronze 5 zhu carry the inscription 'huo quan' which translates to 'wealth/money coin'. He introduced a great many forms of new coinage between 9AD and 14AD but, according to the 'History of Han', the people were confused and continued to use the old Western Han Wu Zhu coins for their purchases - ignoring the new coins. So, Wang Mang issued the decree - "Those who dare to oppose the court system and those who dare to use Wu Zhus surreptitiously to deceive the people and equally the spirits will all be exiled to the Four Frontiers and be at the mercy of devils and demons."

This was a Chong Ning Zhong Bao I obtained from Ricky last November. I had mistakenly posted it on the World Coins & Commemoratives forum. https://goccf.com/t/139310
