No error or variety, just a question on the cut / strike of the letters.

On the 1826 bust half the letters especially on the bottom have a sharpness to them. Almost looks like if one took a chisel and made a clean sharp cut. The color is close to a gleaming silver....It really shows on the word United. I have never seen this before as most letters are rounded from circulation & wear.....Any ideas ?

This picture shows the bottom of the letters with the sharp angle cut and shiny surface...

I'm seeing a relatively fresh die which sustained a crack early in its' usage. This is what I expect from a nicely-struck Bustie.

.....Thanks SsuperDdave...

A fresh new die is one thing I didn't think of...That explains the sharpness..

Thinking more about it, I see striations coming from the tips of some of the letters - the T, E and S particularly - so the die isn't all that new but the strike is excellent. The deep parts of the die won't wear like the edges of the letters will.
