I guess I will give this a shot. Not a huge baseball fan, but what the hey. I post a team after some research.

Bump of the day. Looks like we might have one more entrant! Entries will be accepted up to March 20th. Give it a shot; all you have to lose is the numismatic gift you need to send the winner ($5 to $10 value). The contest lasts the whole summer, and will be lots of fun. YOU COULD WIN! We have the minimum 15 entries, but will accept up to 30.

Seeing how seemingly difficult it has been to get 15 players, I'm not sure baseball is "America's Pastime" anymore.

I know what you mean, Dave. I had lost a lot of interest in baseball and one of the reasons I wanted to get this contest going was to possibly rekindle my own interest in it. You have to at least follow the game to be in this contest and to run it be even more into it. I'll keep bumping the thread each day until the 20th, which is only a couple of weeks away. If we only have the 15 players we have now so be it. It will still be fun, and the chance of winning a prize will be 1 in 5!

I am surprised that there are not more interested players. Maybe the thought of it lasting 6 months scared some off. No matter. I am looking forward to the baseball season. As I look outside and see snow falling, it makes me want even more for baseball to start.

So who does everyone root for? I grew up in central NY, but somehow ended up following the 'Stros. Looks like another TOUGH yr for them... especially after having moved to the AL West. And still in rebuilding mode. OUCH!

Live in North Carolina, but for some reason I've been a Cubs fan for as long as I can remember. Don't feel bad, Dave. I know how tough the years can get...

Zack, I have a friend who's also a Cubs fan. We joke back & forth over which of our teams will be worse every year. I was rooting for the Cubs the year the spectator reached out & kept the left fileder from making the catch. Man, that's tough luck

cnd,
Just saw that Texiera is out 8-10 weeks w/ a strained wrist. Please remove him from my selections and replace him w/ Trout.
Thanks.
Dave

Huge Padres fan here and used to like the Red Sox though after watching Bobby V destroy the franchise I'm not sure I like their new direction. They have been very good to my fantasy teams over the years though so I have to give them that but Texas may be my new fantasy darling team after last season

basebal21, you live in Virginia, but you like the Padres, something is not quite computing unless you are a San Diego Ex-pat. Anyway, Giants fan for life since age 5-ish after seeing a poster in a restaurant; Mythological Giant dressed in a baseball uniform, pictured from the waist down, chasing a human on the maseball field. Began watching when I was 10 and I stumbled on a Giants game on TV. Was able to make it a point to watch games since 2001. I'll admit, though, my watching habits tend to be fair weather.

Lifelong Red Sox fan here. Before 2004 I was very familiar with heartache!
Dave H,
I thought you'd be making a change with your roster. I'll straighten it out on the master sheet.
Edit: Just made the change.

Lifelong Cardinal fan. It's easy being a Cards fan. 5 League Championship series,3 World Series and 2 World Championships in the last 10 years alone. I do appreciate the Cubs and Astros though, someone has to be the wrung on the ladder we climb every year.
