I'm not sure how to link to a Youtube video, but it is interesting to watch the ceremony of the last penny minted. Flaherty presses the button several times before pressing it for the last time. Each time he presses the button, quite a few pennies drop into a bowl (less pennies each time he presses the button to prepare for the final penny). There are several last pennies in the bowl before he presses the final button and the last penny drops into a separate bowl.
I seem to recall something about these very last pennies (in the first bowl) to be placed into special cases (like the one Flaherty holds the last penny in) and sold to collectors at a later date.
Also, the last million pennies are scattered in coffin-sized RCM black boxes, so they must have been rolled at random at a later date. I assume that there is no way of telling which pennies were minted sooner than others. The actual serial #20,000 of the farewell roll refers to the number of the last roll either rolled, or the last roll to have a sticker put on it.
Anyway, here is the link to the video, worth a watch:

Title: Last Canadian Penny Ever Made - May 4, 2012 - Winnipeg, Manitoba by ChrisD204
Hey, glad the link worked, SoulbrotherNo3! Lots of special pennies you have there! I have one roll, radar of my favorite #; kind of makes you feel kind of proud & happy about owning them when you know they were part of an historic ceremony!!
imagine that the real last penny in the museum is stolen or damaged, the museum staff just need to find an ordinary 2012 penny for replacement, too bad /too good that coins don't have serial number on themselves
Depends on the sticker number. Apparently some numbers are worth a lot. If I got the #20,000 sticker I would send the roll to PCGS for grading have them put it in a case and label it "Uncirculated - MS70 - Last Strike". How much more would a MS70 add to that roll? $10,000.
