Still reading the poems and picking my favorite (so hard...)
I tallied up the raffle entries. As of now, there are 60 'tickets' total. I made a numbered list and wrote the entrants' names beside the numbers. If you don't have Supporter under your name, you get one ticket; if you are a Supporter, you get five tickets.
Tomorrow night at ~8 pm EST I'll use an online random number generator to pick the winning number. Before the drawing I'll check back to make sure the Supporter tag has not been added to any names. As of this moment, there are 32 CCF members entered into the raffle. While no new CCF members will be added now since the time for entry has passed, the total number of tickets could go up if someone becomes a Supporter before the drawing.
There are two people who posted haikus who do not have the required 50 posts or the Supporter tag (coinkid and jay4202472000)... Sorry guys-- as per the posted rules you are not eligible for the raffle or Best Haiku. If you become a CCF Supporter and get the Supporter tag under your name be tomorrow night ~7:30 pm EST I'll add you to the raffle (5 tickets).
Winners will be posted on this thread tomorrow night.

Only 32 people in the drawing? Wow, thought a lot more members would post haikus.

BEST HAIKU AWARD (Raffle drawing will take place a few minutes after this post)Funny, poetic, absurd, chronicular (OK not a word but I was thinking of your posts, matthewvincent)... so hard to pick just one favorite! I'd love to give every entrant a prize but the postage would be a killer. But I had to pick just one favorite, and that poem is...
a coin collection
passed father son, father son
growing cent by centCongratulations, NathanASE! Several of your poems ended up on my short list. PM with your address. See the first page contest rules for details on the prize :) But wait, there's more! AWESOME NEWBIE AWARDryanklaus, your haikus were impressive as was the fact you became a CCF supporter as a very new member. Ryan-- PM me, I want to mail you a prize. Let me know if there's anything in particular you collect. We have lots of US coins, mostly very worn but lovingly saved over the years. Check out his haiku:
cannons break the walls
rivers run with roman blood
a coin marks its time(Bonus points for correct use of "its". I'll rant about apostrophe abuse some other time) Very honorable mention:
once in a child's hand
the dime was spent on candy
it rests, collected
NJBobAnd so so so many more that I really enjoyed, from the blatantly sucking up to win, to poems about not being able to write a haiku, to matthewvincent's epic chronicles, to CoinKelly's wait-what-planet-am-I-on oddballs [Kelly, you're gonna have to 'splain some of those to me but I loved them even without fully understanding them]... you CCFers really surprised me. Thank you for the entertainment So now, as matthewvincent says,
A chacun son gout
To each his own. Let's collect
Our heart's desire
