Funny, poetic, absurd, chronicular (OK not a word but I was thinking of your posts, matthewvincent)... so hard to pick just one favorite! I'd love to give every entrant a prize but the postage would be a killer.

But I had to pick just one favorite, and that poem is...

     a coin collection
     passed father son, father son
     growing cent by cent

ryanklaus, your haikus were impressive as was the fact you became a CCF supporter as a very new member. Ryan-- PM me, I want to mail you a prize. Let me know if there's anything in particular you collect. We have lots of US coins, mostly very worn but lovingly saved over the years. Check out his haiku:

     cannons break the walls
     rivers run with roman blood
     a coin marks its time

And so so so many more that I really enjoyed, from the blatantly sucking up to win, to poems about not being able to write a haiku, to matthewvincent's epic chronicles, to CoinKelly's wait-what-planet-am-I-on oddballs [Kelly, you're gonna have to 'splain some of those to me but I loved them even without fully understanding them]... you CCFers really surprised me. Thank you for the entertainment

I think it was Nathan who, early on, asked if the same person could win both the Best Haiku and the raffle. I thought about it and decided to pick the best haiku first and not let that affect the raffle. Do you have some sort of special power, Nathan?!
