Quote: Unless the COAs paper format from the single coin and box set are different. The COAs in the subscription box are the same as you would get with the individual coins. My COA ( a subscription ) says "2013 $10 Fine Silver Coin - Mallard". Mine also says 5056/10000. It must mean that my box and subscription is rarer than the #5000 this seller is claiming. What's the ebay listing number - I couldn't find it.

Just to let everyone know the COA only applies to the coin. The remaining 2 coins will have different COA numbers.

Good to know already at $80. Probably hit the same amount as the other subs, maybe a bit more because of the # 5000.

If there are people out there willing to pay extra money for a piece of paper with a good looking ('unique') number..... I don't have a problem with them spending their money. I wouldn't mind taking that money from them either. For sure, I won't be spending such money..... each of his own.

We are in a bubble, when people are willing to pay extra dollar for a special # that usually did not really have any value for me it's a sign... When everybody search few reason to make their coins more attractive than the rest, it's ridiculous... Maybe the last roll penny has a significant reason, but for the others coins who not make history it's a waste of money....

Everyone wants to make as much money as possible right? So if he has #5000 then he uses that as a marketing tool, just like the 20000/20000 or the 1/20000 penny rolls. Or the near to last penny rolls fetching a premium over other rolls. The 5000 COA makes it stand out from the other listings for the duck subscription. It's already on the hot list for canadian coins!

Maybe today, but for the long term having the duck set 5000/5000 will not worth the extra money paid today... For marketing, everything that could make an items much more desirable is a good reason to talk about it...

It may not even fetch a premium, most have been selling for about $180 and the price isn't even close to that. I agree that any thing to make items more desireable should be used. Ie sequential serial numbers, radar numbers, solid numbers, etc etc. Everyone wants their coins/items stand out. Just like Coke and Pepsi

For marketing, everything that could make an items much more desirable is a good reason to talk about it... The problem is it's not even 5000/5000... it's 5,000/10,000. Ok that's a round number, maybe I would pay 0.01$ more for it, but it's not #1 or #10,000. Even 10,000 would not be that good, it was for Farewell to penny stuff, because we are celebrating the last, so the last of the last is better then the first of the last. But this 5,000/10,000.... bah, I guess everybody can try to fetch a premium.

I found the auction. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2013-Canada...em4ac2b7ac04Nothing wrong with the ad, except there is a misleading statement in it: Quote: You get the last box produced! More darn last penny madness. It will sell no doubt, just a desperate seller trying to milk this for whatever they can get out of it.
