Was going though some coins and all myn1951-S look similar in color however one is noticeably lighter.is that just natural or is there more than 1 version.all mine look like the left coin, the one on the right is the noticeably lighter version with better detail.maybe less circulated? I'm a newbie so I figured id ask.

You got it exactly right: less circulated. That's the only reason for the difference.

Left coin well circulated and shows normal wear
Right coin lightly circulated and still shows some mint lustre
