Perhaps some hints of corrosion showing. Not sure. Full head? Not sure either.

If its not full head, its darn close. Looks to me to be about AU 55 and a very nice coin!

Due to the corrosion it may be AU Details Environmental Damage. With no corrosion a beautiful coin in the MS62 - 63 range...
Rest in Peace

won't make MS due to corossion, but it appears to have no wear. Very nice detail and a great strike.

Thanks, folks. Ya'll ended up where I was: an AU-55 - 58 coins, but corroded. In hand, I can see some wear on the leading edge of the eagle wings. Not much...

What should I do with this thing? I got it at a pretty decent price. I'm worried about keeping it, as I fear the corrosion will continue.

I don't want to mess with the coin, as it's just such a good strike.

Should I get it graded and hope to sell it for $130 - $160? Think I can do that?

Should I just try to sell it as is?

Should I put it in my jeans' coin pocket and hope I can naturally wear off the corrosion damage?

Decisions, decisions....

I think this is still a nice looking coin. So it should be on the higher end of the details pricing, which in practicallity is usually 2 grades or more down. I think this coin doesn't warrant that much of a reduction in price. The jeans pocket doesn't sound like a bad idea, but could really end up adding hits or wear to the head, and you don't want that! Grading a known details coin - go the cheapest route posibly, probably ANACS on a special monthly deal or coupon. Just sell it as is maybe give that a try first on ebay of here.

While some may consider toning as "corrosion", I do not. It's part of the natual aging process for silver. To me this coin looks completely normal and just how it should given it's age. I like it as is!
