Argentum/Argentum, I don't want to come across as crass so please understand I'm writing this with humility.

I don't think your ideas should be proposed as independent submissions from my own designs for the contest. I'm all about tweaking my ideas as a group if one or two of my general concepts win, but I don't think it's right to allow alternates of my personal designs put up for vote against myself.

I intend no offense to anyone. I debated even saying anything, but I put many hours of thought and effort into my designs and think this request is only fair. I'm open to hearing the group's consensus.

Again, if I'm lucky enough to win one or both sides' design for this coin, I'd like to see us perform a group effort to make the designs into something we all as a family can love for years to come. Thanks for hearing my thoughts!

No offense taken, my good man! What I put together is still your designs, and yours to own. I figured I'd make the tweak myself and show you/everyone rather than try to describe it.

Thanks, it's hard to get messages across in text-only form like this sometimes so I appreciate your understanding. I've really enjoyed this contest so far and can't wait for the voting to begin. There are lots of good ideas here that reflect CCF's purpose and theme.

Now I'm off to hop on a plane to Montreal. This will be my first visit to Canada since the cent went obsolete.

It hit me, so I'll say it. This is one reason I love being a part of the CCF family.

You guys are both a credit to CCF. Argentum had no ill intentions (I would have been surprised if he had), and Cheezy addressed the situation in a legitimate and polite manner.

On other forums of many different kinds, I get so tired of seeing immature adults who can't talk to one another like our CCF family normally does. Its a breath of fresh air

9 days left folks lots of great ideas but there is still time to get your design in for voting. Its worth a little of your time me thinks to have the chance of your idea being immortalized in metal.

Thanks, Earle. I completely agree that this is one of the most civil forums I have ever joined.

GoldenChest, me too. I've been trying to learn to use vector and CAD programs so that I can render the idea but WOW those programs are not easy. Might have to do it the old fashioned way-- draw it with a pencil. If so, it will not be pretty.

I'm in the same boat. I don't have access to & don't know how to use aany sort of graphics program. On top of that I'm not an artist so any hand drawing will be pretty poor. I have had a few ideas but haven't been able to convince myself they were worth pursuing due to that. One thing I learned years ago selling real estate is that the pretty houses sell.

Would someone be willing to do the graphics if we email the idea?

BadToTheBone post here

mcshilling,trdhrdr007,ThisIsFun,GoldenChest back many years ago when I was a kid they had this stuff called paper and things called pencils. You could create pretty good graphics with them. A scanner or camera would allow you to digitize them. Sorry about the sarcasm but really folks technology is an aid not the be all and end all of life. If you must use a computer windows paint will produce acceptable line drawings.
