specksnyder:

To complete the theme the other side (not sure what to call it exactly) should feature the Pacific side of the globe. We can' t leave out our friends in that part of the world.

Dang, NJ Bob, you're right. I had intended to cram more of Oceania and China into that graphic... didn't realize they didn't make it at all!

OK Folks the contest is over. I will be traveling back to the USA this week end. I'll get all the designs together and start a voting pole Monday at the latest. The pole will run for 1 week after which the winners will be announced.

Folks, it appears that way too many of my prototype designs were inadvertently were added to this contest. The early ones were supposed to be replaced.

Plus, now we have very similar designs submitted for both the obverse and reverse and it's extremely confusing. The submittals should be cleaned up to reflect the wishes of the designers.

More importantly, I hate to be a complainer but I think the voting should be done via a true *blind poll* rather than having everybody type which number they like best. There's a reason voting is done in confidence.

I hope this comes across via text with my true intents. Not trying to stir up any trouble by any means!

Clarification of why I feel it is only right to clean this all up: I'm competing against myself with seven submissions in each thread! If the votes spread across designs that are virtually the same, I have no chance of winning against someone that only submitted one.

I'm afraid we're too far down the voting path to remove entries from the contest. Here's what I hope will happen for the respective threads:

OBVERSE
Entries 2, 3, 4, 5, 20 votes are tallied together as my Obverse Design "A"
Entry 17 votes are tallied as my Obverse Design "B"
Entry 18 votes are tallied as my Obverse Design "C"

REVERSE
Entries 3, 4, 21 votes are tallied together as my Reverse Design "A"
Entries 16, 18, 20 votes are tallied together as my Reverse Design "B"
Entry 22 votes are tallied as my Reverse Design "C"

Does anyone object with this suggestion? Whomever wins, I would like us to work together to tweak the final design a bit and ensure we're not duplicating information on both sides (for example, the designs in the lead for each side have reference to "established 2005" and we should obviously remove one of them).

Cheers,
-Steve

Oh man, I just noticed how messed up things really are....

Obverse entry #17 was a tweak of one of my entries for the REVERSE. It's in the lead with 16 votes and wasn't even be in that part of the contest.

What do we do now? Just let the votes go as they will and hold a second poll with the narrowed down designs?

IMHO check in with nohope587 after voting is done since there has been a lot of voting already.

They are all lovely designs and I am taking my time to make a decision.

Poll not possible as the number of options is limited to 15
I don't see a problem with including all submitted designs. I really don't
I wanted as many options as possible I set this up yesterday when I was just a little jet-lagged and I may have missed the intended reverse or obverse designation. But I did say put it on the post when you submitted your design.
who ever wins will be the design. Tweaks if any will be by the company producing the the dies. This is becoming way to complicated. There was a month to submit any design options this was plenty of time I believe.

nohope, with all due respect, I believe it's only fair to consider my proposal for merging votes. Example: Right now your options 16 and 18 for the Reverse are both mine and are IDENTICAL.

As of today:

Option 16 has 7 votes
Option 17 (not mine) has 7 votes
Option 18 has 2 votes

So if option 17 gets one more vote, it would win the contest even though through no fault of my own two of my IDENTICAL designs were added to the contest?

I agree that one month was plenty of time. That is why I tweaked my design and submitted clearly marked FINAL designs. The prior reply with prototypes was too old to allow me to edit and remove the pictures.

I guess we'll see how the contest ends, but I will have an issue if I lose due to identical designs (or designs that were supposed to be superceded) competing against one another in the poll and the sum of those votes ends up being a winner.

Thanks for allowing me to express my input.

Also, it would be silly to have "Established 2005" on both sides of the token. This is why the winner(s) should collaborate to tweak the final pictures to submit to the company producing the dies.
