If reps are allowed to break the rules for certain clients, why bother having masters status at all? The way it seems things are going, hot coins aren't going to be available to masters members because of all the pre-selling of the pre sales.

What rules are being broken?
Even IF rules were being broken, you mean to tell me that someone who spends say, $20k a month should be treated as well as someone who spends $1000 a year? The mint is a business out to make money. It's not in existence to be fair to everyone.

Could some people with reps clarify what reps do. Can they pre sell before MC release? I also think the Mint needs to put some more information on the site about them.

The reps are not breaking any rules. They have no control over those who already pre-ordered 3 coins and then turn around and placed an order for 2 more butterflies online.

Reps deal with clients who spend a lot of money and help make their clients make buying decisions. For certain things, they can bypass limits (ie, $20 for $20 coins).
There are only a handful of reps and if the mint put the information on their site, entitled people would think that they deserve a rep even if they only spend $500 a year "just because the mint should give good service to everyone".
Just think - if people are phoning in orders and then ordering online trying to circumvent the system, why wouldn't they try to circumvent the rep system to get better service?
There's a reason it's not on the website.

Meh, I don't mean to ruffle panties. I just think if the average joe can't get a coin, a master member has to claw tooth and nail to get a coin, something's wrong with the system, especially with a mintage of 10000 coins. I certainly spend enough to have a rep, I don't think I want or need one. I can make informed decisions on my own.

At least people with reps waited until they were allowed to order unlike non rep master club members calling in when it hadn't been released..... Maybe they should take the blame....there's more of them out there.. And then buying on the website as well because their order didn't show in their status yet! Causing more grief at the mint and jamming the system up. There are probably around 80% of master club members that never got a chance at this coin.

@Coin_Chick - When you say hadn't been released what do you mean?

Dr Butcher, I think you're blaming the wrong people for this muckup.
The reason MC members couldn't get this coin can more likely be attributed to: - Canada Post preselling the coins weeks in advance of MC membership - The mint allowing people to phone in orders, THEN do web orders - The mint allowing people who aren't even MC to order the coins (huh is up with that.. seriously).

Quote: When you say hadn't been released what do you mean? People without MC were calling yesterday, getting put through to customer service and ordering the coins.

@dafonz - Ya, I wondered why when I called no one asked me if I was MC. I am I just thought it would have been a logical question. And blame CP. I agree.
@dafonz - Okay. I thought MC members who called. :P

I agree partially Coin Chick. Rep Master members didn't have to wait until the 'official' 1:30 release. Most were safe and secure having ordered a day earlier (which multiple members here have confirmed). The Mint allowing other master members to order before official release was unfair as well, and, I agree many people did it (again multiple confirmations).
I have no problem with the mint taking away coins if members broke rules. There just needs to be something in place to prevent the free-for-all that occurred yesterday.
