Yes, that was a dumb question. It would narrow it down too much even if it was a commem. I thought of a much better question about 10 min after I asked that one. Sorry to all. I know my question didn't help.

Jay, from the first page: Quote: -Each CCF member will be permitted ONE guess at the coin. You do not have to be an asker to guess! -Your guess may be given at anytime from the beginning of the game to the end. No indication will be given to the fact of whether or not your guess is correct until 24 hours after the last question has been answered. At the end the winner - the first person to guess correctly - will be declared the winner! -In order to be correct, you must give the date, denomination, and country of origin. So I guess you can do it now, but it looks like if you miss then you're out.

I'll take a shot.
I think it is a 1916 One Cent from Canada.
My basis is:
1) University of Calcutta - the designer of the cent was E. B. Mackennal and he designed a statue of King Edward VII for Calcutta. 2) John Pinches - born in 1916 3) Statue of Liberty - made of copper 4) Larger than a nickel - 25.5 mm vs. 21.2 mm 5) Between the dates of 1850 & 1950
I hope I am right. I probably should wait, but I like to take chances.

Thanks for the guess! Its good to live on the edge sometimes! @ Fatman, yeah, I guess so. You guys are getting into some really good questions (tough for me to answer )! 1) Is the coin copper? Yes. 2) Is it smaller than a nickel? No. 3) Is it a medallion? No. 4) Did the coin circulate in the British empire? No. 5) Does it date to before 1950? Yes. 6) Does it date before 1850? No. 7) Is the coin a US commemorative? No. 8)Does the coin have a human portrait one it? Yes... 9)Does the coin come from a Canadian province? Yes... cheezyfryes, you're up!

OK I've been waiting for some else to ask this,
#4 Did the coin circulate in the British empire? No.
9)Does the coin come from a Canadian province? Yes
Canada and the Province are all part of the British Empire are they not or do I have my history mixed up?
OR am I missing some else about this coin you can't say.

Hmm... yeah good point, now that you mention that it did I guess. I had it set in my mind that "British Empire" was referring to Europe . Sorry about that everyone. Thanks for the correction

That's why I asked what I asked. I know what coin it is but the British empire question blew my mind and had to double check it from a different perspective.
