BC is getting the PST back next week.
Will people from BC be charged an extra 7%?

@jpavia83: Seems the tax structures are much the same everywhere as regards the federal and states taxes. I guess that should not be much of a surprise.
@noahs-numismatics: The rate 9.975% looks suspiciously like a tax rate multiplied by a tax rate. As most people know, taxation administrators around the World are a law unto themselves.

I'm not sure what is going on either. My last order ( 20-4-20 Wolves ) was tax exempt. When I did a little test and tried a web order for something that was GST/HST exempt, I got charged QST. I'll definitely be speaking to my MC rep in the morning and try to find out what's going on.

@sel_69l Quebec's old PST was 9.5%, multiplied after GST. This year the gov decides to make the calculation "look" simple, so instead of 1$ x 105%GST x 109.5%PST = 1.14975$, the calculation will simply be 1$ + 5%GST + 9.975%PST =1.14975$

I've spoken with my MC rep, and he's escalated this up to his supervisor. I should get an answer by the end of the week.
Unless the rules have changed over the past 2 weeks, bullion coins and bars ( 99.5 gold and 99.9 silver ) have been, and should be tax-free ( no GST/HST or PST - QST in Quebec ).
Currently, if you web an order for a silver coin, advertised as 'NO GST/HST', the Quebec tax is being added in.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

I got taxed 5% in Saskatchewan for my order yesterday. I sent them an online email today and gave my web order# and told them to either reverse it or explain it. I did a mock order on a random silver coin today and there was no tax prior to hitting the final button. I think it is just a glitch and they were overwhelmed yesterday.
