Hey guys, I was wondering. Since apparently RCM starts taking taxes on all Silver and Gold 99.99% pure coins in all provinces, dealers will also start taking taxes, right ?

Me and My dad we ordered a lot with the last release as we have two MC accounts ... The sum of taxes we'd have to pay is huge (If they will apply taxes) ... And I was sure it is set for all provinces now

Quote: LoL I'm not kidding here Ok - I assumed you were kidding. Taxes are not being charged in 'all provinces' and the RCM and dealers don't decided when to charge tax. That is dictated by the government. The change today was in BC where the HST was eliminated and there is at least one other thread about it.

It depends on the province whether you pay PST or not. I live in Manitoba where it is. And, yes, the Mint charges me the applicable PST on all purchases--I called and inquired and the very nice lady told me "We have arrangements to collect (Provincial) sales taxes in some provinces. Manitoba is one where we do collect it." Getting it shipped to a non Manitoba address would cost me at least as much as paying the tax. What can you do?

I should have added I probably can still order from a dealer outside Manitoba that doesn't collect PST from other provinces. They, however, probably can't ship as cheaply as the Mint.
