Hey guys,
I already asked in another thread, but my question got lost among the other many comments. I ordered 3 masks, 2 Butterflies, and some other coins ... ALL GOT TAXED Quebec Taxes of 9.975% if I am not mistaken. I definitely will call the Mint, but wanted to know if I am the only one.

If 9.975% is the standard tax in QC, then they should charge you for non-bullion items. I could be wrong though... Okay, google search tells me 9.975% is your real tax percentage. (weird number?)

at 9.975%, this is the first time in my like where I wish they would just increase the tax rate to 10%.

Hate to break it to you Adorus, I think it might be just your luck. I'm in Quebec too and haven't been charged on any of the silver coins I ordered on the 21st too. Maybe call the mint to see what's up with that?

Yeh, going to do that, cause fine silver 99.99% SHOULD NOT be charged :P

If this tax is tied to the GST, definitely should not have been charged. Call the Mint and get the charge reversed.

I note that the Quebec 'PST' is 9.975%. Being a non Canadian, I have no idea what that means.

@sel_69l, In Canada, there are two sales tax rates. One federal, one provincial. Sometimes they are combined. GST is the federal tax aka the goods & services tax. PST is the provincial sales tax HST is the two taxes rates combined as one harmonized sales tax. For more information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sales_taxes_in_Canada
