Picked up a whopping 134 rolls of pennies. Sadly that well has now run permanently dry. On the bright side, I got 37 mint 2012 rolls, one mint 2010 roll and ten mint 2006 rolls. The rest are mixed rolls. I am going to post pictures for sure as soon as I get a webcam. Currently I am living in separate residences from my family and the camera is there and not here. After this, I might say goodbye to penny roll hunting unless I can find another well to draw from.

Finished up my last 3 boxes of cents. Best find were 2 x 2006 No P No Logo Magnetic and a 1896 IHC. Found 1 2006 NPNL Magnetic in box one and two and found the IHC in the last box. Not to much else worth while. Did manage a decent copper amount with 48% first box, 53% second box and 34% for the third box.

Clad, that's a great way to go out.
Everyone else, no one has contacted me about the copper pennies I'll be returning. Last chance if anyone wants them before they go to the bank. I'll be in Toronto this weekend for anyone living there.

Only 53% from a box with copper!
What year are you using as your cut off?
I use 1996... and have been getting some great percentages... between pre-'96 dates and post '96 dates that are in fantastic BU or better condition... I would say my "keepers" are around minimum 80%... and for copper easily around 60%

Quote: Only 53% from a box with copper! Hmmm...for me...finding 53% copper in a box of cents if very good. The boxes in my area usually average from 35-45%. Pulling 1325 copper cents from a box of 2500 is pretty good. You are correct. Copper cents for Canadian coins ended in 1996. Coins dated 1997 and over are zincs. In my area...we have quite a few people who pull coppers from circulation. For our town...there is nothing North of us to speak of. Not to much to our west within any reasonable distance. The closest larger city to our east is 3 hour drive and to our South is the US. So...we get a lot of dumps circulated back in the mix in our area and now that the cent is no longer in general circulation...working through what little I get my hands on...53% is awesome. :)

Picked up 20 rolls of pennies today. Also went through some of my family's coins back home and picked out some pennies, nickels and one more quarter for my U.S State set. Currently in the process of filling 14 penny books back to 1937. Just need more from 1954, half the 1940's and 1937-1939.
Also picked up 2 more HMCS Shannon toonies from the bank so I've filled all the toonie holes in my 5 1812 cards. Also all the Laura Secord holes, still need the other 3 sets of quarters.

Was having a pretty rough day so I went to the bank and picked up 40 rolls of pennies. Turned out to be the best coin roll hunting I've done so far. First coin I saw was a 1968 American dime toned completely black on both sides which is a strange find in customer wrapped penny rolls in Canada.
My other American finds were 7 wheat pennies including 1958,1946,1945,1944,1935,1934 and one so mangled I can't tell the date. I also found a 1906 Indian Head (first one found CRH!)
Found 19 1967 centennial cents Found 27 from 1960-1964 including a really nice 1960.
The 1950's were as follows: 4 1959, 1 1958, 3 1957, 2 1956, 3 1955, 1 1954, 6 1953, 6 1952, 6 1951, 9 1950 including nice a nice example from 1952 and 1950 (41 in total).
The 1940's were as follows: 2 1949, 5 1948, 5 1947 ML, 2 1947, 4 1946, 6 1945, 1 1944, 11 1943, 3 1942, 5 1941, 7 1940 including a nice 1948 (51 in total).
From the 1930's: 1939, 1935, 1932.
The rest of the finds were kind of weird but great! 1941 and 1942 Newfoundland 1 cent coins. 1977 5 cent from Guyana, 1970 Mexican Cinco Centavos and a 1928 6 pence which is 50% silver!
This was definitely part of someone's collection. I also found about 2-3 rolls worth of mint/near mint copper pennies from the early 1990's which were mostly all rolled together with the occasional George VI thrown in.

I just realized that in 40 rolls today I pulled every date from 2012 back to 1939. Still pretty pumped about all the finds and I don't think it will likely happen again (but here's hoping).

@o-train: Incredible finds! I miss pennies. I went through the last of my penny hoard and am jonesing for a new source. You are so lucky a bank is willing to give them up for you. I have had no such luck here. BTW, did you live in Ottawa at one point? The nick leads me to believe you did at one time.

Hey nickelphr33k. Thanks! I've never lived in Ottawa. A guy on another forum (bodybuilding not coins) called me it once and I've been using it as my handle ever since.

O-train is the name of our pathetic little LRT line that goes from nowhere to nowhere, lol! That is why I thought you were from Ottawa
