Started going through a box of quarters today and came across a Jamaica $10 coin. Got ripped off on the exchange as it is only worth like twelve cents. The only bonus is that is something to add to the world collection

After a very busy last few months, I finally was able to get a quantity of rolls worth a longer post: 20 rolls each of nickels (all CWR), dimes (2 that were CWR), and quarters (10 CWR). Here is the breakdown:

Quarters
23 1969-1995 nickel (5.75%)
4 1999-2000 commemoratives (1%)
7 American (1.75%) including a hole filler (Blue Ridge Parkway) and a couple state upgrades
1992 GB 10 Pence
Upgrades: 1982, 2007 Biathlon, 2001P, 2002P, 2003P old portrait

Dimes
13 1968-2000 nickel (1.3%); 2 came from the machine rolls, which is unusual
1 1965 silver (0.1%), my first silver dime from coin roll hunting!
2 American (0.2%), 2005D and 1989D

Nickels
104 pre-82 nickel (13%) - oldest being 1961, 1950, 1947, and 1940
199 post-81 cupronickel (24.9%)
14 American (1.75%), including 1956D and 1960D hole fillers, and a 2005D buffalo upgrade
Misc: 2014 dime, 2007 Romania 10 Bani
Upgrades: (Will check later as I have more nickels to go through)
Hole fillers: 1947, and a 1970 in great shape

Hey anyone know who marks their dump rolls as X7?

I have come across these at a few of my pick up banks recently.

What is the most common commen quarter found. I rarely find anything different than Olympic ones, so annoying. Iread on another forum, that over 22 million 2007 quarters were minted, is this true. Do the Olympic quarters have higher numbers than other commens.

Anyone find color flag or poppy quarters yet. These seem to be currently rare. I never find coins other than US quarters in my rolls.

Maybe it depends on your location. I live in Nova Scotia where the last box of quarters I went through ( Dec 22 ) had just about every commemorative in it. I don't save them, unless I find an error, and return them to the wild. I find more flag ones than the poppy

Ace ftw's thin planchet small cent find got my CRH juices flowing so I picked up 53 rolls at the banks today. Older Canadian finds include: 1939, 1940(2), 1946, 1951(2), 1952, 1953(2), 1956, 1957(5), and 1959. Also found 3 wheat cents, a 1996 1P from Ireland and a 2006 10 cent coin from New Zealand. The most interesting finds were a 1962 small cent with missing detail in one of the leaves (weak strike?) and a 98 year old 1918 Canadian dime that was an unexpected surprise.

I have been roll hunting quarters looking for the new coloured poppy. There are plenty of the non coloured out there. I don't expect to find too many U.S. quarters anymore with the current exchange rate. I had my wife pick up ten rolls in a small town 35 minutes south of us as that is where her doctor is.
To my surprise 6 of the 10 rolls were complete U.S. quarters. That is like a $4 x 6 = $24 bonus! (Still no coloured quarters in the other four rolls).

Nice dime O-train! Very cool!

Do you think maybe the cent had an overpolished die? Looks flat and even like the field though.

Thanks, I've found dimes in penny rolls before but this is definitely the oldest one.

Not sure if the die is over polished. I'm going to post it in the error section to get more feedback.

I found a 1942 Mercury dime in a penny roll. That surprised me but something of your vintage would really get my heart pumping!

I have a nickel, perhaps a 2014, where the die was polished flat around one of Jefferson's eyes. Looks kind of like a shiner as it looks smoother than the rest of the field. But that's what is making your coin interesting. If it were overpolishing I'd expect that the finish in that area would be distinctly different than the rest of the field. That doesn't seem to be the case. Let's see what the experts can conjure up though. Interesting coin.

I search dimes here in the US and my favorite coin to find is the hot young queen. Love those coins too bad I have only found a few.

I have not posted here lately, but over the weekend, I hit 2 major silver streaks. At one bank I picked up $100 in dimes, and I found over $29 in silver dimes. I also picked up from another bank quarters, and I found $5.25 in silver quarters.

the best was a 1948 dime. Sorry I don't have any pics.

just finished 3 boxes of pennies. I got some date doubling 1978 and 1979's a bunch of minor rotations, but the neat finds were a clipped 2007, an almost 180 rotation 2002 and a 2001 with accumulations.
